The most important format work( tested ):
Bluray
1080p 23,976 fps = 1080p@23,976 hz

Bug list at Firmware 1.0.1-FUTEKO-EN. 21-APR-2016 (22-MAR BUILD)
- Auto-switch 720p@23,976hz not work: if resolution is 1980x1080 or above , frame switching is working
- HimediaVideoPlayer app support only autoswitch 50<>24/23,976 or 60<>24/23,976 from UI to video when needed, but it doesn't work with 50 <> 60; 50 <> 29,97; 60 <>50 hrz
PS: This is a first draft list i will update a soon as possible with full info, please before report issues check list, it's better send a me PM and than i update the list.

I think i have find the problem, all mkv file cropped ( black band remove in the rip for 2.35 and 2.40 movie ) in encode dont play in 24p if the resolution of HEIGHT is under 1080 the player dont show the file in 24P, all file i have play with resolution 1920 X ... under 1080 dont switch in 24p and file in 1920X1080 ( full screen movie or not cropper movie ) play fine in 24p, there is a update for the next firmware for this problem ?
wtf !! never see this on another player !

Ok i have test 30 mkv file in 1920X1080 and all switch in 24p without problem
i have test 30 movie with resolution with 1920X .... under 1080 and all movie dont switch in 24p and stay in 60p
anyone have contact himedia for upside this information for the next firmware please ? i'm not alone i think with this problem right ?
-
I do not understand, why Himedia makes a file played as 24Hz depend on a resolution of a movie.
Why don't they easyly only check the framerate of a file, and ONLY because of the framerate change framerates, NOT because resolutions.
If the output is set to 1080p 60Hz, + Autoframerate Switching, and a movie with framerate 50Hz or 24Hz is played, it should be outputted in 1080p 50Hz and 24Hz, completely irrelevant which resolution the movie has.
Please, Himedia, swith framerates not in dependence of any resolution. Switch framerates only because of framerates of the movies!
Framerate is Framerate, and resolution is resolution, two completely different things.
Meanwhile many people crop movies, and especially because of that fact, a movie output framerate should only depend on the Framerates of the movies, NOT on any resolutions.
Please, Himedia!
PS for me, like it is at the moment, it is completely illogical.

My friend you can watch if the mkv you try to play and dont work on 24p its same of me with a resolution under 1080 ? and if when you have a Full resolution 1920x1080 the player switch ?

thanks.

You know if its fixed in the next beta firmware its out ?
-
Looun, did you read, and understand, what I was writing?
Thats important. I repeated it several times, but I think you did not understand what I wanted to say.
Again, and only for you.
I am not talking of 720p, I am talking of Frameswithing for absolutely ALL resolutions.
So Auto frameswitching recognizing as itself has to be seperated from the resolution recognizing.
That is a different thing, comared to now adding Auto Frameswitching only for 720p.
Did you understand now?
-
vdevil is absolutely right !
I made some more tests and i did notice as well , that it not only stutters or doesn't adjust correctly with 720p , but also with 1080p if the resolution is not 100% 1920*1080 . For example, if the resolution is 1920*800 , due to the blackbars , it is not switching the framerate to 24p correctly.

This will be fixed soon by firmware update. All resolutions will behave as currently for 1080p. So switching to/from 23.976p / 24p.
More options for frame rate switching may come in future. I understand that customers want switching so the output Hz matches the video in all circumstances. We are requesting this from HiMedia, but it's more complex than just fixing the < 1080p bug so will take longer if it can be implemented.
-
So in a future update the Q10 will switch to 23,976hz with every 720p, 1080p and 4k material? I truly hope so otherwise its pretty useless atm ^^
-

Yes. It switched for every resolution in pre-production firmwares. That it doesn't in first shipping firmware is an easily fixed regression.
-
God bless you then. How long should that take to implement the whole switch process again for 720p and the whole 1080p and 4k 23,976hz? In the upcoming weeks I suppose?
-
It will be fixed in next firmware.
Exactly when that comes I don't know for sure. Soon. Hopefully this week.
Usually we'll have an update thread on this forum within a few hours of firmware release. For this firmware only (due to logistical problems) we probably won't, so the firmware will appear here first: http://www.himediatech.com/support.htm
-
Apparently so far no new firmware :(
I don't understand how it's possible that the 23,976hz switch worked perfectly on a beta build or whatever and now doesnt and they dont fix it? Cant be that simple. Its probably not working anymore :(
-
HiMedia want to fix as much stuff as possible in the next firmware. That's why it's delayed.
We want a new firmware as much as you do, but it is probably better to wait until HiMedia are happy with it before releasing.
-
seems latest kodi 17 works very well with 4k 10bit files. Also spmc. Then only issue is auto-switch fps.

also with old version 16 worked good, new q10 pro use OMX android layer ,so all android app use expressX engine kodi youtube ecc
