On the WD TV Live you can resume a video if you have stopped it before the end , or you enter a start time. Is there such a facility on the Pro 10?
-
In my old Himedia 900b there are both these options.I'm pretty sure they will be in the new model as well
-
Resume is supported. When playing a file you've played previously, a dialog will pop up asking whether you want to play from start or resume.
Jump to a specified time is not supported, but video can be skipped through quickly using left/right d-pad on the remote.

Just retried the resume option and I did not get any option to resume, it started again from the beginning. Watching a 720p MKV file under Kodi.

Is wrapper installed?
If it isn't then Kodi will default to starting from beginning of file. To get resume option in Kodi without wrapper navigate to file, press menu key on remote, and select 'Resume from...'.
-
No resume function here either.
Using synology video station i have the problem that seen content does not even get marked as such.
-
I have the wrapper installed (cannot tell if it is working correctly) and using Kodi it does not give the option to resume. If i use the Media Centre and NFS it asks if i want to resume.
-
You should be asked to resume from Kodi with wrapper.
It's possible wrapper is not installed in Kodi.
When you play a video from Kodi do you get a 'HiMediaVideoPlayer' message in top left of screen for a split second? When stopping a video, do you get a Kodi dialog box saying 'External player active', Click OK when playback has ended'?
If your answer is no to both then wrapper is not installed. Install it as here: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=710.0

I am afraid i dont know if the wrapper is installed (although i can assume it is as i have an uninstall option). I don't get the short message either when watching Kodi. Resume does not work, and i have noticed that the file typed SD,HD &4K is not displayed anymore by Kodi (16.1). Is it worth doing a factory reset? Install the wrapper and then Kodi?

Btw I think that Kodi 16.1 is not working well on the Q10 Pro.
First use Kodi 15.2, start it, and end it, eith the exit button blow on the left side.
Then download the Wrapper from here in the Forum, install it, and start it.
Klick on install playercorefactory.xml
Exit and again start Kodi.
Go to your files, choose one (don't start it) and click the menu button and choose "play with"
Then click on Wrapper.
Then the file should be played with the Wrapper, resp. Himediaplayer.
You can see wether it is played by the Himediaplayer, if you, during watching a movie, clock the ok button.
If it pauses, you are using the Himediaplayer.
If it does not pause, something is wrong, and you are playing the file with Kodi.

Thanks for the instructions, worked ok. My initial query should have been clearer, resume means if i have stopped the video and turned off the player and come back to it later to the same video, i would like the wrapper to ask me if i want to continue from where the video was stopped before. Currently it does allow me to do this.
-
You want the option that the Wrapper resp. Mediaplayer asks you from where to play the video, and he does it (as you are writing).
What is the problem?
-
I would like the option to continue watching the video from where i turned it off, if i turned it off at 30 minutes, let me restart at 30 minutes.
-
The resume function like you described, works ok for me.
When I have stopped a video and exit from it, the next time I start the same video , it shows me the option to start at the time I previuosly had stopped or to start from the beginning.
This works either from within Kodi or direct in Media Center.
-
Not for me unfortunately :). Mind you when i use the menu button whilst highlighting the video file and specify the wrapper to watch it with, it comes up with a warning saying 'wrapper has stopped'.

Resume working fine, just as w/previous gen Q5/Q10... via videos on my Synology NAS.
