Title: File types on a Shared Network drive
Post by: srollings on April 22, 2016, 11:44:30 AM
I have a WD Cloud network share and i can play all most files except one, in that the Pro 10 cannot 'see it'. It's an MP4 4k file of a film clip of **. However the Pro 10 can see the file if its on a USB stick (even if there is no picture just sound).

I can see nothing from the file details that would explain this file not being visible.

What app are you using the browse for the file? HiMedia Player? Kodi? Is the file visible from other apps (i.e. if you can't see it from HiMedia player can you see it from Kodi)?

Both HiMedia and Kodi did not pick up the file. Kodi play another file (Sony download) perfect , but HiMedia played only the Audio and no video.

What kind of share is it? Samba / DLNA? Can other devices on the network see the file?

For the sound but no picture problem, is it a 4K HDR file? The #1 priority bug in current firmware is that 4K HDR files display on SDR TVs as sound but no picture. It's a retrogression bug because it worked fine in previous pre-production firmware. It will be fixed in next firmware 100% for certain.

PnP and as i say it see every other file in the folder. I have an HDR TV, so happy to wait for the firmware update when it comes.
