Title: Himedia q10. Awful.. just absolutely awful
Post by: himediauser on April 02, 2016, 05:15:36 PM
Where to start with this so called 'media player'. Won't play any video without some sort audio delay or slowdown in the video. I have installed the Himedia wrapper and I have upgraded to the latest firmware. Such a shame as the hardware inside is excellent spec wise as is the physical build quality. Can't help but think that most of these problems could be solved if it didn't run android and instead run linux with open elec instead. Does anyone else have the same problems I am having or is it just me.

Basically everything. 720p and 1080p x264, mp4, avc, vc-1. I bought the box mainly to be able to play 4k and 3d content in the future when i get a better tv. Plays fine on my old wdtv live so i really don't know what it could be. The issue is that audio is out of sync.

it's first person have issues "Basically everything", very strange.
VC-1 ti's not support at 100%,but there are very very few BD with this codec.
Which audio do you have test? DTS ,DD HD audio ?
Which output format you use PCM raw? HDMI or optical?

lot of people came from wdtv live are very happy about q10 /q5,very strange.

Wondering when you installed the latest 3.0.3 firmware did you use this method ?

Installation Instructions:

1. Extract update.zip from the download archive (using an unzip app like 7zip, Winzip etc) to the root of a USB pen drive. (the USB pen drive should contain a single file called 'update.zip').
2. Insert the USB pen drive into any USB port of the Q10 4K3D.
3. With the Q10 4K3D turned off, use a paper clip or pen to press and hold the the pinhole restore button on the side of the Q10 4K3D (next to the USB ports).
4. While keeping the restore button pressed, turn on the Q10 4K3D.
5. The Q10 4K3D will show an Android droid logo and proceed to upgrade the firmware.
6. The box will auto-reboot when finished.

I have had quite a few complaints from people who updated with the built in updater app, Almost as if it is leaving residual stuff behind from the previous firmware.

Bit of an update. I turned of the express engine and decided to play just using Himedia player on it's own instead of having it launch from kodi seems to have fixed the problem to a point where it is almost not noticeable(still there however).

HiMedia Q10 has been around for about 18 months now and is generally regarded as excellent. It doesn't suffer from audio delay or slowdown when playing video.

I don't know if you bought the box from us (what firmware is installed), but I suggest installing the latest firmware using the restore button method to wipe everything and start from scratch.

I like my Q10 with 3.0.1.1 but would like to confirm that it has the problem with audio syncronization. It depends on the file. Sometimes up to 0.3 sec. So I'm forced to use Kodi without wrapper where I'm able to tune this shift specifically to every file.

Thank god, I thought I was going mad.
