Title: MKV with Atmos issues.
Post by: usul on February 29, 2016, 05:31:35 PM
Hello.

I really love my q5 4k3d,  but have serious issue that I may to return it.

Hope they can fix this or someone has suggestion.

I have several mkv atmos video files that I backup direct from my BluRay.
The file starts,  but video is choppy.  Like watching slow motion.
I tried 24fps on/off,  different audio out options for hdmi.
All produce same effect.
Every other mkv, iso, m2ts,  with atmos, hd audio works perfect.
The mkv files I made onky have the atmos track,  not the dd. 5.1 core track.
I can play same file with my other media players with no issue.

Hope I can get this fixed.  Love player besides this..

Note; I tried kodi,  media player not in kodi,  same Issue.
And yes wrapper is installed for kodi..
Thanks..

Is it all ATMOS soundtrack files or just some?

Can you post mediainfo details for the file that doesn't play? https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo

It was all my mkv atmos files..

Good news...
Think I found issue.
Seems himedia is rather sensitive to these atmos mkv files. As other players play them.
To fix Issue, I ran the mkv files thru mkvtoolnix and they work now. ??

I'll post media info for picky files so that maybe someone can see what makes them so picky..

...that was the solution! After processing the files like suggested by you everything runs smooth.

Thanks!!
