Do these 2 new Dune Media Players 8k Solo & Dune Max utilize OpenWRT like the 4K Max HD does?

No. Android OS only. The Android OS has an integrated Samba server.

Thanks, so all disk management, partitioning, security, FTP Server Management, etc. is controlled by Android? I assume they have built in FTP Servers as well as Samba?
Samba is very slow. We prefer to use FTP.
Thanks for the quick response.

There is no built in FTP server.
The box can format HDDs and partitions as EXFAT, NTFS, EXT4, EXT3, EXT2 but apart from the format function there is no partition management built in.

OK Thanks, so they rely purely on Samba for getting files to and from the player when in a network. That is somewhat slow and 3rd party FTP servers for Android are not so efficient. I tried one (Paid) and it keeps dropping out for updates.
I really like OpenWRT on my Dune 4K HD Max. It does take bit of setup though. FTP copies files at ~150bps which is ample. With Samba I am lucky to get ~25bps. Problem with the 4K Max is the updates are so few and only Beta are available now. :(
