Help :-(
Ok. New Z2600 unit - setup with all my films on a internal HDD in the Z2600, I set the source (which is a usb icon for some reason ?) anyway - I enabled the Samba on the box, and I can see the ZD_Samba network folder on my PC and I can transfer a new film, but it transfers it to a "shared folder" ZD_samber - Share - Storage - Movies - but this is empty as all the films are stored on the USB icon thing which i think came up as Internal device ? i cant remember now... I can copy the films from that shared folder in the media centre and paste it to the poster wall folder and it does wok, but this seems like an asre way round ! surly i should just be able to access the main film folder, transfer the film over and then re-scan on the player -BUT i cant see the drive on the player on my pc ! just the bloody share folder >:(
Do I have to re-do the wizard again and select a different source ?
Please help ?
Thanks
Mel

With Samba service enabled on the Zidoo box any attached storage should show up on the network as:
SMB://ZIDOO-IP-ADDRESS/UUID-OF-STORAGE-DEVICE
So, on the system I am testing it with here it shows as:
SMB://192.168.1.100/419A-6AC6
The address SMB://192.168.1.100/Storage is the internal flash storage of the Zidoo.
Note that the IP address will be different on your network, it's allocated by your router.

Z20 Pro unbox today... and I return it if Zidoo don't solve this problem.
If I format HDD drive with internal files manager exFAT32 I can write on disk from SMB, but... and this not are a little issue, I can't write files over 4gb (some of old FAT32 limitis)
Ok i will try another way and format HDD with internal file manager in NTFS, ok i can see SMB share but cant write on share resource...
I am bitterly regretting my old Himedia Q10 Pro

This is a recognised problem, there are threads about it on Zidoo's forum. There is a bug with the SMB server whereby drives with NTFS format do not display properly when viewed as SMB share. Zidoo will fix this very soon, but the short term solution is to use drives formatted as GPT / exFAT or GPT / EXT.

Hello,
This is UUID format difference 419A-6AC6 vs 345E57E89E123EA4.
Try make on NTFS HDD empty folder 11-22-33 then connect to the Zidoo and check if you see all folders.
Enjoy Zidoo player.

Can you clarify I just make a folder called 11-22-33 on hdd and smb will be visible on an NTFS drive?
Thanks

A better solution is to install firmware 1.0.58 or later where the bug is fixed. Alpha 1.0.58 is available on the mcbluna site: https://www.mcbluna.net/wp/
