So my Q10 spontaneously reset itself when I inserted a SD card...long story short, I had to redo my whole installation. Decided to upgrade to Android 7, so I did.
Now to the insane part...no problem accessing my PC files via autosearch in the network"player".
However Kodi (19.0) refuses to accept browsing smb stuff.
So my solution to add new video in Kodi was this.
1. Click add new video in file section.
2. Choose add new network place
3. Using smb protocol option, insert as server name your computers IP, mine was 192.168.1.78
4. For username and password i put in one blank space each!!! This was the missing part that nearly made me lose my mind, think I saw some post a while back after I lost smb after the matrix upgrade.
5. Now you can browse PC shared files via the smb://192.168.1.78 link when you use add new video in Kodi.
Attached an image (in Swedish, sorry)
Hope this helps someone out there from an aneurism...

It was always like this, even on other platforms and media Boxes, Kodi's auto search for servers in the SMB section isn't working. It's rather the a fault of Kodi, not entirely of the Box. No surprise.
