where and when in Dune part one does it cause problems ? list here and ill check my version
Dune plays fine here, you didnt fully say how you got your player hooked up, try HDMI video direct to tv, and HDMI audio to your AVR, my avr wont pass the video for some reason ( well too old for new HDR ) and i get a red fuzzy screen ,
hmm odd, so what glitches ?? sound or picture
well that doesn't make sense if you remove un needed tracks and it works, is the source file corrupt ??, try ripping the disc again
hmm ok, well for test purpose plug the dune directly into your tv bypassing your AVR and see if you get the problems
what movie are you having problems with ?? whats is the file size and what bitrate is the video ?? also what format ?? mkv avi iso ??
Best is SATA next USB3 next USB2 and last is NAS.
Maybe a memory problem with menmory hungry APP's installed?

you say you havent tried a different HDMI cable !!, even Porsche and Ferraris break down, so try a different cable
just a thought do you have performance mode on ??
settings - system - Others - performance mode switch to on
try putting the .iso on a usb3 stick and play from there and see if you get same ??
hmm ok so possibly a bandwith problem with you lan ?? what nas, any switches, is your router gigabit ??? using cat 5/5e ??, whats your network setup ??
Try enabling NFS on your NAS, navigate to the share via NFS, and see if the issue persists.I'm already using NFS on my NAS and Dune. Would it be better with SMB?

NAS: Asustor AS6604T 2.5 Gig
Switches: QNAP 2.5 Gig
Cables: Cat 6
Router: Gigabit
Network: Dune HD Max Vision 4K -> QNAP -> QNAP -> Asustor AS6604T
is dune and the nas on the same switch ??
try these test files and see how far you can go untill you get problemsHow do you use these files to test?

think i played 200Mbs no problem
I use NFS with no issues. If you look on the graphic the first block is the original file and we can see it tops at 11.60 MB/s. The second block is the light file, meaning I stripped all the audio tracks except Dolby Atmos. We can see that it didn't top at all. And it is where it tops that I have problems.
NFS is, in my experience, slightly more efficient.
Can you monitor network traffic on your NAS web interface?
sounds like your network is 10/100 !!!
One of the cables could be cat5.Thanks! You were right! The cable between the 2 switches was a Cat 5. But I had my iMac on that switch too and when my Wi-Fi is activated all the traffic goes by the router. But my iMac is plugged with a Plugable adapter 2.5Gig on a USB C port.
You need at least cat5e for 1Gbps.
lol i was just thinking after 5 months its finaly sorted and all the time it was his network ;D
