Title: Audio sync issues with Bitstream (ISO) on Dune HD Real Vision 4K
Post by: turntable97 on June 04, 2021, 11:43:46 AM
Dear community,

i received the Dune HD Real Vision 4K a few days ago. So far it seems to be a nice mediaplayer.

But when playing ISO files (BD or 4K-BD) the video delays massively (about 300-400ms) on DTS-HD when i choose bitstream output. So I always need to set a audio delay on my receiver which shouldn't be the solution. The delay seems also not constant; e.g. when I choose another chapter in the menu then suddenly it's 200ms; after changing the chapter agains it's 300ms... and so on.

Firmware is updated to the latest version. Choosing the beta driver didn't fix anything for me.

My TV is the Sony A8H (KD-55A8 here in Europe). I use the HDMI eARC connection to send the sound to the Feintech HDMI eARC Audio Extractor. From there it goes to an older receiver, the Onkyo TX-NR414. It works great for all sources without any delays; just on the Dune Real Vision i get massive bitstream delays on ISO files.

Would be great if you could help me find a solution for it. Otherwise I need to send back the device because I bought it for that function.

Thanks in advance!!  :)

I am using a standard connection Dune => AMP => TV which never has mentioned problems and use iSO constantly as it is my standard format for storage.

Time for a new AMP?

Something to try is Setup - System - Video - Disable Playback Performance Mode.

You mean Setup - System (=Android) - Video - Disable Playback Performance Mode. Does it do something?

Most Audio and Video parameters in Android Setup are bypassed by the Dune OS. Some don't sync but exist in both or overlap functionally. This is the most obscured part of Dune Setup needing attention,
This according Dune after asking them about a few. But I am still in dialog with them to find out which exactly remain active. Dune will most likely make changes to the as-is need for a mixed Dune/Android setup in the future.

My thought was that the setting may be the same thing as the Zidoo setting for compatibility mode for older amps, presuming this is a Realtek setting present in the base firmware.

Will drill down on Android Video/Audio settings with Dune. Trying a setting never harms.  :D
Frankly neither have an idea what that Zidoo setting is doing exactly?

I have the same problem with my Dune HD Pro Vision 4K Solo - Disable Playback Performance Mode doesn´t fix it..

Interesting... if I rewind the movie a few seconds then it runs in sync afterwards - I tested this with several DTS HD ISO...
