Title: Downgrade to Kodi 17

Not sure when but I must have updated the firmware at some point and Kodi is at version 18.2. Now I cannot access any shared folders on my old Windows 7 PC. Having spent most of the day googling and failing to get it to work it seems to be a Samba issue. I've tried setting the Samba version in Kodi to a max and min of smbV1. Now if I click on a windows source it immediately says connection timed out.

I would like to get it working if I can if anyone can point me in the right direction.

If not the solution appears to be to go back to Kodi 17, is this possible to do and if so how?

Made some progress, Mediaplayer can see and access the windows shares but I still can't Kodi to access the shares.

Fixed, all working again. For anyone who is interested the problem was with smb2 on the Windows 7 machine. Supposedly smb2 is installed by default by Windows 7, unfortunately that is not the case so here's the solution.

Start up regedit and find this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters and then add
Registry entry: SMB2
REG_DWORD: 1 = Enabled
Default: 1 = Enabled (No registry key is created)
Windows will then install the required files. After a restart smb2 will be active.

I then created a new user with a persistent password on the Windows 7 PC (even though the shared folders were accessible to everyone without a user account, it was required for the Himedia box)

On the Himedia box, add new share locations complete with the Windows user name and password.
