Title: 422 10 bit
Post by: mcflyator on October 25, 2020, 09:01:37 AM
Hi. My Q10 pro refuse to select 420 10 bits mode.
I have a message: This format is not suported.
It works only in 8 bit.
Do you know how to fix it?
Thanks.

To clear out: There's no 422 / 10 bit on 2160p by HDMI standard regulation (https://www.extron.com/article/hdmi2faq). So that's fine. You could choose only the 420 option for 10bit. That's also fine. But what's wrong and not working as expected, is that the player won't switch automatically to the best possible (that would be 444 / 10 bit) combination with any videos under 30fps / Hz. To get around this bug, set the display options always to fix 2160p / 30Hz / 444 / 10bit and for all the >30Hz videos, like 23.976fps/Hz the output will stay like this as well.

(These aren't necessary for FHD displays/resolution, the auto combination switching is working fine there).

Thanks for explanations. I will try, but i made a mistake on the subject.
My problem is to select 10 bits.
Not possible to select it on 420 2160p / 50Hz, 420 YCbCr 2160p / 60Hz.
Only 8bits possible on different mode.
Thanks.

Make sure that the HDCP and the HDMI Auto adaptation options are turned OFF.

Other can be that the Box isn't plugged in the right HDMI port (for media and Blu-ray players) on your display or the inproper label/mode is selected for that HDMI input. See you display's user manual for these.

Third could be if you display doesn't really support 10bit.

What is your display's model number?

Merci. Résolu. Le problème venait de l'ampli Onkyo dont la sortie HDMI n'était pas sur améliorée.
