Title: netwerk
Post by: schapie on August 15, 2020, 02:19:39 PM

via Google Translate:
"I have problems finding my Himedia Q10 on the network, have transferred an existing hard disk from my mede8er and want to format it too, but I cannot find that in the settings either. Someone a suggestion how I can adjust it."

"In the meantime connected to my USB port, but also can't find the hard disk, start to believe that my hard disk doesn't work anymore so tomorrow or Monday I should buy a new one. To be continued."

I have updated my hard disk but cannot access it via the network yet. I want to format my hard disk but this will not work. Someone an idea how I can do it.

I even connected my Himedia with a USB3.0 cable but even then I cannot see my hard disk. Anyone have an idea.

Connect your pc to the box with a USB cable using the type B port on the back of the Q10Pro. Follow this guide to initialize with GPT and create a new NTFS partition and quick format it:

I have returned my Himedia Q10 pro and will receive a new one today and I will do what you (stl) advised me. I'll keep you informed.

Today I received my new Himedia Q10 pro and did what you said but I don't see it on the network, but with USB on my PC. Hard disk formatted and drive letter given but nothing on the network. I may be doing something wrong but previously had a Mede8er who didn't have these problems. Do you have a solution.

Ik heb problemen om mijn Himedia Q10 op het netwerk te vinden......
(Traslate: I have trouble finding my Himedia Q10 on the network ......)
Maybe I am wrong, but from these words I understand that maybe the SAMBA mode has not been activated from the settings.
What does it mean to find HiMedia on the network ? You mean not visible on the network via PC (Wi-Fi or LAN)?

Me Himedia is connected with a network cable and what you say about the Samba mode, I don't know where to find it. I have done what STL had indicated such as create a partition and format it as NTFS but even then I cannot see it if I connected it with my USB cable then I see it as an extra disk.

Settings> Advance> Samba Service> Start

Also I recommend that you assign a static IP address

You should see root similar to this (I use an SD card as a memory expansion):

Hi DMD, I have done what you described and now I see it on the network only I cannot see or format my hard disk (2TB) I see all kinds of folders (which can be seen in your right screen) that I cannot bring home. Can you help me on how to do it with my hard disk so that I can transfer the movies from my PC to my Q10 Pro.

I did a test I don't know if it will be useful.
I do not HDD mounted inside HiMedia, but only on the PC connected to the storage boxes with HDD, to simulate your situation I used a USB pendirve, inserted sideways.
To see the contents of the pendrive online, I went to this path:
"\\192.168.1.xxx\share\media_rw\sda1"

I advise you to format the HDD with the PC using an adapter.
Obviously in NTFS, if each file will be more than 4GB.

After your explanation and the link "\\ 192.168.1.xxx \ share \ media_rw \ sda1" I checked it and it turns out that it is SDA2 with me but that doesn't matter I can now copy the movies from my pc to me Q10 pro.

I want to thank you very much for your patience and I am very happy with it
