1. Extract update.zip (using an unzip program like 7zip, winzip etc) from the downloaded zip archive to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB pen drive. (the USB pen drive should contain a single file called 'update.zip'). Note, there is no need to rename anything!
2. Insert the USB pen drive into any USB port of Q10 Pro.
3. With Q10 Pro turned off, use a paper clip or pen to press and hold the the pinhole UPGRADE button on the back of Q10 Pro (next to the power port).
4. While keeping the UPGRADE button pressed, turn on the Q10 Pro.
5. Q10 Pro will showthe Android 7 coloured circle logo.
6. When you see the circle logo you can release the restore button.
7. A progress bar will indicate update progress. Do not turn box off or use the box/remote during update!
8. When update is complete the box will automatically reboot.
9. First boot will take 3-5 minutes. The box will reboot into new firmware. Allow boot to complete.

Well I was a guinea pig and tried it. My original 2.1.4 started having trouble maintaining sufficient link speed to stream video...not sure why. Anyways, I just installed this version and the two immediate issues I have:
- I installed Nova Launcher. It works fine until you restart the box. Even if Nova is set as the default launcher, the HiMedia launcher starts. Weirdly, if you open an app and then return home then Nova actually launches.
- Disregard original post. I'll keep an eye on it. After having problems with the HiMedia player not enabling or showing controls in media player, I force closed everything and then it started working. I'll keep an eye on it.
There are still some bugs to work out I think but I'll see if I need to revert back to the previous 2.1.4 or not.

Yes, the new firmware does NOT like external launcher apps >:( .
I use Smart Launcher and no matter which way I set it to default, the new firmware will use its own (pathetic) launcher on a reboot. I have to launch my launcher manually!
Another good example of the professional skills of the programmers at HiMedia :-X !
As there is very little else in this "new" version, don't wast your time installing it!

@maelor
HiMeida have good programming skill as new launcher is intend to be active on boot they use directBootAware="true" on AndroidManifest, please replace OvLauncher.apk via adb shell with version from Lite_CFW or give a try of Lite_CFW.
adb connect <ip_player>
adb root
adb connect <ip_player>
adb remount
adb push OvLauncher.apk /system/app/OvLauncher/OvLauncher.apk
adb reboot
As version is still 2.1.4 I didn't expect to get any thing more except launcher vs CN v2.1.5 (https://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=711.msg30242#msg30242) for witch already HiMedia confirmed to have small fixes if not include specific Chinese application.

Thanks pcristi but I don't feel confident enough to use adb shell :-[

Install the pcristi custom version of the new firmware? https://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=812.msg30781#msg30781

I haven't tried any custom firmware but may have to try. I'm still having the same wifi-connectivity problems as I did before...choppy playback over wi-fi. Issue with both 5GHz and 2.4GHz connections. Even when it shows excellent signal and high link speed. Obviously 2160p video has more problems than 1080p...presumably due to bandwidth...buy my connection is plenty to handle. Not sure what the issue is.

will this include fixes the crashing of high bitrate dolby atmos tracks from disney?

No need. I just put Smart Launcher as the first item on the new HiMedia menu and also set it in Android Settings as the Home App. So when the new menu loads, I press OK or the Home key and Smart Launcher runs. No problems.

That is one workaround...if that works for you. For me, I don't feel I should have to boot up and then open the app to load the launcher of choice. If I set it in Settings, or itself, as the default launcher, than it should automatically load everytime I boot. Same with a phone or any other Android device...and was the case with HIMEDIA Q10 firmware before...including the original 2.1.4...which I've reverted back to.

Done upgrade very thing work fine
1. iptv
2. youtube tv
3. bluray
4. can change wall paper
thing i don't like is the new interface

I agree, but I just can't be bothered to reinstall yet another version of the firmware and all of the apps all over again!
All I have to do now is press one key, either OK or Home, and only on those few occasions when the box has been rebooted!. Not exactly difficult is it?

Firmware illegal 2.1.14 is good, so it is not a pity to spend time on its firmware )
if you have root rights, you need to freeze the stock launcher with the program - SD Maid before this, you must install the launcher that you will use)

What about the 24Hz (Auto frame rate) switch option, is it still hidden only in the Playback menu?
