Title: Likely a very set of Noob Questions but..
Post by: thestefster on March 27, 2020, 01:07:40 AM

.. I did try and find the info on here without too much luck. Hope you can help, I would really appreciate it.

I have a Q10 Pro that I purchased in 2017. Its running 5.1.1, Kernal 3.18.24. Build is HMD-1.0.9 2016-12-13.091707. Serial number is HMDB501701001158.

How do I tell if this is the international version or the chinese version?

Also, what is my best upgrade path to get to the latest firmware.

I tried a few difference versions from 5.1 -> 7 and also just upgrade 5.1 to latest version, just took a chance that it might brick the device. I get the android logo but then it just boots back into the menu. I never get an upgrade bar.

Any idea's?

Thanks,
Stephan!

Hi,

From the FAQ:
Misc
* Differences between Q5/Q10 Pro Chinese and European/international hardware? See here: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1175.msg9321#msg9321

To upgrade to Android 7:
First install with the upgrade button method version 2.0.4 Android 5.1 to 2.0.4:

Finally install the latest version:

You should have the update.zip file in a fat32 formated flash drive. Beware that windows might be hiding the zip extension on the file.
Between upgrades let the box boot at least once.
