Title: Cd ripping.
Post by: SSThing on March 02, 2020, 03:20:09 PM
My cd's now number around a thousand and I would like to convert them all into FLAC for use via both my Q10pro and my Onkyo dap.
Has anyone here got any experience with this, specifically using a USB cd/DVD drive connected to the Q10pro? If so, what software did you use?

Regards
Chris

I've done the same with my CDs and DVDs but using my desktop computer. To rip CDs you don't actually need extra software, you can use Windows' built-in Windows Media Player which will rip in FLAC format.
There is plenty of other free software out there but, if you really want to buy a package, I have Nero.

To rip DVD/BlueRay/4K videos I use Wondershare UniConverter.

Thank you Maelor.
I actually have a high-end dual Xeon workstation but I packed it away when I moved house almost two years ago and haven't really missed using it that much, so I was hoping not to set it up again. But you are right, the best results will be returned if I do and certainly a lot quicker.
That is my plan for tomorrow.
