I'd never heard of the VOYO but a little research leads me to believe that it's rubbish.
It is from a small and relatively unknown Chinese tablet manufacturer and is their first non-tablet product. The casing appears to be derived from a tablet. As owners of other more popular tablet derived Intel Bay Trail boxes will testify (i.e. Pipo X7 and MeeGoPad) the Intel chipset needs sufficient cooling to run correctly. Check out our video comparing Passmark results to see how the Mele PCG03 runs about 33% faster and at less than half the CPU temperature of the MeeGoPad. This impacts directly on performance as well as on product lifespan in the long term.
The version of Windows 8.1 on the VOYO is extremely likely to be the free version licenced for use on tablets. It is likely to be deactivated (if it is activated in the first place) by Windows automatic updates. The Mele PCG03 has fully licenced PC Windows 8.1.
If VOYO are advertising their box as being capable of 4K then they are being misleading. It uses the same Intel chipset as the PCG03, basic capabilities are the same. What they probably mean is that it can decode 4K and output it at 1080p, as the Mele can too.
On a more general note, the Mele is built really well and looks good in a front room / bedroom. Mele have been designing Media Players + Android Boxes for many years and know what they're doing.
By all means buy the VOYO but expect an experience that starts unsatisfactorily and gets progressively worse!
And, in general and not aimed at anyone, please don't spam our forum with adverts for other products. ;D
