Q10 Pro Windows 10 SAMBA Alternative
I have spent countless hours trying to resolve the issue with Windows 10 and the Q10 pro where you try to copy a file over SAMBA to your box and get the dreaded not enough space error, I can only attribute this to the outdated SMB 1.0 crap that himedia uses in the firmware, It just does not work anymore.
Here is a great alternative I found that works 10 times better and has killer features, App is called Lan Drive.

Set shared directories the way you see fit.
Works on Rooted or Stock Firmware
Can be set as service & start on boot
Default share name ( HisiliconHI3798 ) can be changed to anything you like
Low ram usage
SMB 2.0
BE SURE WHEN YOU INSTALL TO GO TO SETTINGS AND CHANGE ( AUTHENTICATION TYPE ) TO ANONYMOUS OR IT WILL NOT LET YOU LOGIN

Will this help with initiating the transfer from the computer to the box or will it only work from the box itself?
-
That is what is for transferring files from PC to box will show up in your local network
-
I use Directory Opus Pro on my laptop and it always surpass "not enough space" error. Anyway, will try your solution also. Thank you for your effort.
-
And what about deleting files properly from the Box's HDD with these solutions controlled from PC?
While there's that old bug that doesn't really delete the files from the HDD in the HiMedia Box, tho' files reported deleted and can be no longer seen, but it doesn't free up the corresponding drive space on the HDD. So one must connect the Box to a PC directly and do a checkdisk time-to-time if he wants get the lost proper drive space back.
Have you tried if these methods could solve this problem?
-
It does in fact show the space freed up when deleting files from PC using this app, However it seems to require the Q10 to be rebooted to reflect the change.

Thanks, but it doesn't work too great for me. Starting from being unable to set names with special characters (such as what the existing v1 client allows), through having to use anonymous mode, and also not being able to use normal ports without rooting the box, and finally, setting the shares is really problematic. But I appreciate the effort. I'll keep looking.

Hello everybody,
and thank for this useful info. I will keep trying since my first attempt to copy mkv files over this samba 2.0 is MUCH SLOWER than the same done with the old samba 1.0 service of Q10 Pro. Any suggestions?

Or you can use teracopy to replace the default windows one. You can set the utility to ignore insufficient disk space. It's what I use and it works flawlessly and seamlessly with windows 10.

Or you can install entware and get working samba 3.6 and 4.x (with some limitations for samba 4.x, you should create hard mount point at windows like net use x: \\192.168.1.5\media_rw\sda4 /pers:yes) at the level BELOW Android. The manual is here -> https://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=812.msg30220#msg30220 (https://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=812.msg30220#msg30220) The tested read speed is 105-107 Mb/s, sustained write speed near 66 Mb/s to ext4 5400 rpm HDD.

I'm getting even worse speeds with this app (~4 MB/s) than with SMB 1.0 (~10MB/s), so i've gone back and reactivated SMB 1.0 on Win 10.
A different solution like a cfw with SMB higher than 1.0 would be great since it takes ages to load anything to the Q10 Pro.
