Hi,
recently purchased through you guys and it arrived last week. I'm not at home to check the exact FW version but that should give some idea??
When playing video (media player or kodi) or even navigating the 3d launcher interface, the screen will flash green briefly then switch to a strange colour pallet. kind of like 80's pastels or something.
Also, I've noticed audio syncing being out a fraction where other players using the same infrastructure (wired LAN) have no issue.
Are these known issues with solutions?
I was hoping that basic functionality was stable at this stage...
Cheers,
RB

Hi arrbee,
I use the actual FW and 40% of my HD-MKV's have the audio synch problem were the audio runs more and more out of synch over time in Kodi and HiMedia-Player.
For the rest 60% I have to set a constant delay in Kodi.
There are also still issues with some 3D-ISO's in Kodi (blocking artefacts, audio synch) and HiMedia-Player (blocking artefacts, audio synch and no forced subtitles).
Also 23.976 Hz is not supported, which leads to micro-stutter every 42 seconds.
There is no solution yet unless using an other player for this files.
We (the H8 customers) are waiting for fixes in the next FW.
I hope HiMedia will come with a new version shortly which will run much better to get a good reputation for the x-mas business. ;)
Actually I am sad that I can not recommend the H8 to family, friends, colleagues and in forums.

I assume the reason for the green flashing and strange colors is an unstable HDMI connection
from H8 to your TV.
Use a shorter HDMI cable or disconnect the cable from the H8 and connect it again with high pressure
to get a good contact.
The other issues (audio sync, etc.) are not solved finally.
-
Thanks for the suggestion.
I will try the cable.
It is interesting that the same cable plugged into another media player doesn't show issue, maybe the connector on the H8 is not 100%

The green flashing sounds like an HDMI cable problem. H8 outputs HDMI 2.0, might need a better cable.
The audio-sync problems are recognised and have been fixed in latest Kodi. This update will be reflected in next firmware, which will be soon.

Just an update...
It seems like it might be related to the input on the TV.
Initial tests seem to show a different input doesn't have the problem.
I will continue to monitor it and report back if the colour corruption happens again.
-
So, the problem is still there.
I've tried 2 different cables and 2 different inputs on the TV
It's definitely something to do with the connection to the TV though as sometimes I can correct it by switching input on the TV back and forth.
Also other glitches that may already been seen...
Using Kodi, a video kept playing (could hear the sound) but it dropped out to the main device menu where I can select to start kodi etc.

Hi,
Is there anything that should be looked at here?
I am concerned that once the firmware is released to make the player somewhat usable, I'll still have this issue with the picture.

The video output connection problem could be a hardware problem, it's certainly unusual.
If you want to return for exchange please email us. mail@futeko.com

I have the same problem with my H8, thought that the firmware where the problem but hardware problem sounds like a good reason.
I have tested with different highend cables Viablue http://www.viablue.de/com/s900_hdmi_silver_ferrite_filter_triple_shield_cable.shtml (http://www.viablue.de/com/s900_hdmi_silver_ferrite_filter_triple_shield_cable.shtml) and Supra Met http://www.jenving.com/products/view/hdmi-hdmi-hd-a-v-1001100955 (http://www.jenving.com/products/view/hdmi-hdmi-hd-a-v-1001100955) (all HDMI 2), tested on different panels and with and without AVR connected.
You have an email from me :)

Killroy, yet another problem to add to your list. I find it strange that you only mention this now and not earlier. I have replied to your email. Please continue the conversation by email and not on this forum.

Thanks for the reply.
It the next firmware is out soon I'd prefer to see if that has an impact first. Unless you are sure that it couldn't improve the situation...
Any ETA on firmware?
-
Should be next week. 2015, just.
-
lol.
I'd be happy to try that (and some other tests as I'll have a bit of time over the break) and return if the problem persists.
Is that OK?

For you specifically, because we've discussed this before, you can return up to 12pm on Tuesday 5-JAN (outside the 30 day period).
Please email us is you do want to return. We'll need to issue RMA instructions and number.

Hi.
Can the window be extended to sometime after the firmware is released? ;)
