Title: Black border in subtitles
Post by: roxouno on June 17, 2019, 04:50:14 PM
Could Himedia add in the subtitle menu possibility of including black border for subtitles in Himedia Q10 Pro.

More options would be appreciated in the menu of subtitles, colors, borders, fonts, etc.

Thanks

You can add a thin border to the text in HiPlayer's sub menu, but it's really thinny.

Other option is to make your own styles and use PGS type subtitles, for that you need to convert them in SubtitleEdit on a PC. And after that read here: https://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=3681.msg25607#msg25607 (https://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=3681.msg25607#msg25607)

Thanks.

I've converted .srt subtitles to .ass with Aegisub.

I have put font color, border and shadow and everything is fine.

Reproducing it in Himedia player eliminates edge and shadow.

How can I do to keep the format that I have set.

Never used Aegissub, only Subtitle Edit. So my advice is to load the srt sub in SubEdit than File>Export->Blu-ray sup. There you can set up everything you need to make it look the way you want, you can check it with the "Preview" button how would it really look and the click "Export all lines".

You will get a .sup extension subtitle that you just need to rename to .ass or .ssa at the end to make it work with HiPlayer. Keeps every customized option, shadow and border as well.
