Your current firmware version can be found at Settings - About - Device Info - Build number.

1. Extract update.zip (using an unzip program like 7zip, winzip etc) from the downloaded zip archive to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB pen drive. (the USB pen drive should contain a single file called 'update.zip'). Note, there is no need to rename anything!
2. Insert the USB pen drive into any USB port of Q10 Pro.
3. With Q10 Pro turned off, use a paper clip or pen to press and hold the the pinhole UPGRADE button on the back of Q10 Pro (next to the power port).
4. While keeping the UPGRADE button pressed, turn on the Q10 Pro.
5. Q10 Pro will showthe Android 7 coloured circle logo.
6. When you see the circle logo you can release the restore button.
7. A progress bar will indicate update progress. Do not turn box off or use the box/remote during update!
8. When update is complete the box will automatically reboot.
9. First boot will take 3-5 minutes. The box will reboot into new firmware. Allow boot to complete.

I own the HiMedia Q10 Pro, and I'm very happy with the latest FW 2.1.4. A few days ago I have opened a new post about a black bar which covers the menu bar from the movie addons in Kodi Leia 18.2 "No Limits and BK Nox". The movies will stream quite well. If I install individual movie addons like "Loki or Supremacy" I do have a menu bar (Play, Pause, Stop or Subtitle buttons), but it doesn't stream movies very wel or sometimes not at all. This occurred with previous FW versions from HiMedia too. Is there someone at this forum who recognize this problem and able to share any solution about this matter?

The one above (missing option to turn OFF the front LCD) and the missing Aspect ratio option needs to be revised. Could anyone find these in some sub menus or the latest e.g. in the HiMedia Player menu?

IIn the previous firmware (2.0.4) it was set to off.
I performed the update, reset button method with paper clip, now I always find it off, so it kept the previous firmware settings.
But the command, however, no longer appears in the setting.

This problem is not fixed as I can see on a Q5 Pro and a Q10 Pro.

Please, I do hope there is someone to give some response about the black bar matter in some Kodi builds as I have mentioned above.

Thanks "Mount81" for your response and suggestion. I'm aware of that site, and you're right that these kind of matters wouldn't be discussed in this forum. I did explored various builds, and responded to various sites already, but unfortunately without any response or solutions. I will try to find an answer why I have that annoying black bar down the screen.

Still issues with playback of DVD isos:
Wrapper cannot access the DVD menu, seems just to play the longest video file it finds.
Subtitles are still automatically on.
Annoying as hell, since very time i start a movie, i have to navigate to subtile settings and turn them off.
Just add an option like NONE in that submenu ffs.

or push the "subtitle" button on the remote for easy switching.... but I would prefer to have default off and only switch on when required!!

Hi everyone. I went from Android 5 to Android 7. Version 2.1.4.
have two problems: I can't copy and paste and with the mouse I can't use it on the film bar to go forward or backward. it's a hateful thing Is it possible to do something?

So I've just installed this. But Auto IP configuration doesn't seem to work for me. It fetches some wrong IP. Wifi works.
Any known issues?
It works with a static IP, however, the range of available IP addresses is out of my control, so it needs to work on auto.

Ive tried to install this several times. When I power it up to upgrade I get the rings all let go of the upgrade button. The rings disappear and the himedia logo comes up. No progress bar or nothing. The hi media logo is there for about 2 minutes, and then the start screen comes. It does not reboot. The firmware I have today is 2.0.4 05-07-17
What am I doing wrong?

Make sure the usb drive is formated in Fat32 and you have the file update.zip on it. Try another drive and another USB port.

Since I have updated my Himedia Q10 Pro with the la official firmware (see below) nothing is going well in KODI 18.3

No addons are working, no connections to the addons servers, no updates of my libraries, I can't connect to the Q10 from my windows laptop

Hi, have latest FW installed, and now the most times i like to power OFF my Q10pro, it dont react to the comand from the IR, and there is no way, so i must unplug it,
really not happy with this new behavier, was never before..... grrrr THX

Had same problem, this solve it:Factory reset, install fw with paper clip, set up as new, ;)

I figure this out - need to check default storage equipment - if set to SDA, it gives you an error like this, need to be set to sdcard oor other HDD.
Anyway the problem with HImedia cutting samba connection (when trying to share file) or stopping playing a music file after few seconds is still not resolved...

AndroidN is refer to Android SDK from HiMedia box not to Android version use on device witch control.

I have HiControlAndroidN.apk installed on my Samsung Galaxy Tablet, to use it as a remote control for the HiMedia Q10 Pro box. The tablet has Android 9 installed, so I was checking if an Android P version was available.

So the changelog unmistakably states MK3D support for this FW, but I have been reported that it doesn't actually works. Have here anyone tried and succeed with .mk3d video files playback?
