Title: Automatically set the resolution on Himedia Q10 Pro
Post by: dapro on May 20, 2019, 06:27:40 AM
Good Morning

I own the himedia q10 pro, with the firmware 2.1.0
My question is, I stream my movies on my Synology from himedia to kodi 17.6. Everything OK. Only what do I have to adjust, which also automatically detects the system, whether a 1080p Blue Ray is running or a 4K? If I put on the Himedia resolution to 2160 / 24hz run the 4K course without problems, but the 1080p movies are synonymous in 2160/24
Conversely, it is the same. If I set the Himedia to 1080p / 60, the Blue Ray's HD in the 1080/24 is ok, but then the 4K's also run in the 1080p.

How can you recognize this automatically in the himedia?

Request for help and support.

Thank you

Sorry for my english

There is an unofficial patch for this (see the FAQ thread). However because odd previous experiences I don't use it and also would recommend to others to rather not, but it' your choice.  This auto-res switching seems that will never be officially solved on these Boxes. So i still recommend manual switching, or stuck with UHD res and just let the Box upscale FHD videos.

I also recommend to set the GUI to UHD / 30Hz and the Advanced Settings to 444 / 10bit (and of course turn ON the 24Hz mode). That's the only way you can get the best possible PQ on a UHD display.

(Hope HiMedia will fix this latter colorspace bug in the upcoming FW).
