Title: is this normal ?
Post by: OlivierQC on December 01, 2015, 03:48:37 PM

Hello,

Himedia Q5 (FW 3.0.2)

When I choose a movie in KODI 15.2, the wrapper starts however, I loose signal on my tv for about 2 seconds before it comes back to normal.  The same happens when I stop the movie and return in the kodi.

I can create a video if explanations are not clear.

thank in advanced

Is look like your TV is Samsung, some other brand just displaying black screen.
Yes is normal if your setting in HiMedia 1080p24Hz is ON, because of switch from 1080p 60Hz to 1080p24Hz.

It's your TV switching output mode. If you disable 24p in Home - Settings - Playback it won't happen (but all video will play at 50hz / 60hz according to your main refresh setting).

Thank you for your answers

I have a Sony x9305c with the 24p set on the ON setting

I have shield tv and a minix x8-H and never had this issue with the original kodi

Does this only happen with the himedia products ?

Are Shield / X8-H switching output to 24p mode?

Is the problem eliminated by turning off 24p mode on Q5 as described in earlier post?

There will always be some delay on the TV when switching modes.

Yes it does work but by deactivating the 24p there are micro-stuttering in the movie.

If I understand correctly, nothing can be done to rectify the issue  :)  either I choose to have micro-stuttering in the movie or loss in my signal.

It's a problem with your TV not the Q5. Some TVs will switch mode faster than others.
