Title: Q5 - Have Lost Some Remote Capabilities with New KODI 18
Post by: streetgang on January 10, 2019, 09:46:59 PM
With the latest KODI 18 updates, I have lost the scrolling left, right, up and down on my remote.  If i switch to "mouse" on the remote I can make some selections that I had lost with the "OK" joystick.  I can't find any where in KODI or Android settings to get this back.  It makes it pretty useless without being able to scroll.  I have two remotes and they both don't work so I know it's not the remote.  Has anyone else run into this problem?  If so, is there a menu selection that I'm missing? A fix?

I'm running KODI build 18.0-RC4 Git20181226-14086a7 and Android7.0.0 API level 24 (kernel:Linux 3.18.24_hi3798cv2x)

Thanks

 Same here :(

The box is pretty much useless without the remote control functionality.

please guide me how to solve this problem
From Q5/Q10 Pro FAQ (http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1517.0) In Kodi, go Add-ons / My add-ons / Peripheral libraries / Joystick Support / Disable
Did you try it?

You need to disble the periphals joystick
Go to system-addons-myaddons-periphals and disable
Then restart kodi

Got it to work now  :) I think that I didn't restart the box the last time, perhaps that's why it didn't work, but its OK now. Thanks for all your help.

I had too much issues with KODI 18. I rolled back to stable 17.6 using apk from http://mirrors.kodi.tv/releases/android/arm/ and disabled updates in google play. Then set the Wrapper again in My Apps.

I used Chrome on my Q10 Pro running firmware 2.06 to download Kodi 17.6 from that link but it would not successfully install. I get a message saying "App not installed - package is corrupt." I want to roll back to Kodi 17.6 from 18. Is there another way?

Try downloading the Kodi package again. It is possible to install 17.6 over 18 by simply installing 17.6 normally from the apk.
