Hey all
Been some time since I last posted here, as I've been stuck on Firmware 2.0.6 ! I refuse to update a firmware that breaks something as basic as subtitles...
I just saw that firmware 2.1.0 STILL didn't fix this issue! Is there any workaround, any unofficial patch that fixes that ?
Is there any drawback by staying on 2.0.6, am I missing anything by staying on that old firmware until they fix this subtitle problem ?
Would updating to Kodi 18 resolve the subtitle problem or is it unrelated ? Heck, is Kodi 18 even supported by the Q10??
Cheers!

There !may! be problem with SD/avi videos on 2.1.0 as it was with the previous ones. No users reported back so far if it works again or not.
New 12bit colorspace option on 2.1.0, also just may have some minor PQ benefit.
Otherwise: using PGS subtitles (converted with SubEdit) to get around the .srt subtitle issue, could be a solution.
KODI is unrelated, the best is to use HiMedia's own player. KODI has many other issues on this box with playback, not advised to use, only just for Browser/Library with the Wrapper (see FAQ).
KODI 17.6 works fine for Media Browser, but 18.x has an issue with External Player (Wrapper) handling, so not viable. Probably fixed in the final 18 release.

What is the 'srt subtitle issue'?

Subtitle lines that are too closely timed to a previous are not being displayed.

I was still on 2.0.6 but decided to give the latest 2.1.1 try.
So far, so good. Everything seems to be working properly.

Hello,
but I think that our guru Pcristi reported that subtitle bug is NOT present in 2.1.1... I am closely watching this particular issue... So, you mean that IT IS still present?

On Page 1 of OFFICIAL Q10 PRO FIRMWARE. FUTEKO. HMD-2.1.1 2018-12-24, I reported the subtitles line skipping has been fixed.
I also said in another post that I tried a video pal 720x576 mpeg file, which did not display in the correct format (same Page, differnet post).
Edit:
My bad, the sample video file I tested had black bars encoded around the video. Thanks to Mount81 for pointing out this maybe the issue.
