Hello!
I found one more problem with playing video. When try to open video file with posters option (View poster) and poster does not exist for this video you can't play video and have to come back and choose another option (Play video). It is create some inconveniences using Zidoo Z-series.

There is not such a thing like a best player. Selecting one is all about knowing exactly what it must do for you  ;)

Even then there may be trade-offs (or stacking multiple like I do).

I agree with Nice Monkey, there is no such thing as the perfect player.

At the moment I think Zidoo have the best balance of performance and software. The Zidoo media browser is much better than anything HiMedia ever had, and ZDMC is equivalent to HiMedia+wrapper if you want Kodi.

Whoa, is that real? I actually came to the site intending to buy this player, guess it's a good thing I read the forum first...

Could anyone with this player confirm if it reads older formats, DIVX, DIVX3, DIVX4, XVID...?  If it cannot, it's completely useless! I guess I would wait for Himedia's next entry in the Q5 line of models in that case... but it's pretty jaw-dropping that a player could actually not play some of the most popular formats...!

It reads DivX. In fact, bearing in mind that nothing literally reads everything, it reads close to everything.

Format support for Zidoo is very similar to HiMedia.

I like oldies but I mean "Vintage Movies" then.  ;D
Most are available these days in far better quality on BD (MKV if you like them small sized) .

There are more people around like you who like to watch the old recordings but most moved on to BD ( and many to 4K-UHD/HDR). I have a few Eminent 7385 players (similar to Xtreamer Prodigy)  lying around doing nothing, these still do an excellent job on the old stuff up to 3D-BD. You can get one of those on Ebay for a few bucks. The Eminent in fact even works with a 8 TByte HDD inserted (there is a file limit not total volume, so use ISO's or MKV).

X10 / X9S are receiving firmware updates and run the same media player software as Z10 / Z9S (i.e. the whole Realtek product lineup is being kept up to date). That is good support.

I am going to start deleting any similar posts because you are making strong attacks against the new Zidoo products without, as far as I can see, ever having actually used them.

It looks like Opus audio format (inside mkv) is not supported. Zidoo Z10 Media Center says "Unknown audio format" and plays the video without audio.

I just received Z10. My Q10 PRO died and I am glad it did because I hated it.

Z10 on the other hand .... LOVE IT. Home theatre is awesome. Kodi should hide somewhere and cry with the failed ergonomics (isnt the point of library showing the details and not playing first and having to click yourself to death if you want to see the details). And so much more.
But lets get to the point. Z10 doesnt play a lot (depending on your library). Install Aptoide -> VLC and ... VLC plays everything on Z10. The thing is VLC detects problem with hardware acceleration, turns it off and plays video not accelerated which is just fine. The only problem is that it is super annoying to use another player.
"Cannot play video" is obviously fixable and if it is fixed we have a winner.

Zidoo does not include the DIVX VOD (Video On Demand) license needed it seems.
See my review:
http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?threads/practical-experiences-pictures-hq-music-dvd-bd-and-uhd-bd-playback.48237/

- DIVX VOD (Video On Demand) titles are not played by the player but these play without problems using any of my HiSilicon based players. XVID AVI''s on the other hand do work just fine (for VOD content the player must be DIVX licensed).

In some cases divx can be played by changing the file header to xvid. This doesn't always work though. See here: https://www.fourcc.org/changer/
