The V3 was sold earlier this year as an Android box. We are selling the same hardware but Venztech have developed in-house a build of OpenELEC for it.

So we are selling the V3 pre-loaded with OpenELEC 5.0.8.

OpenELEC on V3 is actually very good. The S805 chipset used in V3 is kind of slow overall but has excellent video capabilities (4 x Mali-450). So it's perfect for Kodi where rendering the interface takes minimal performance but video capability is crucial.

Are there already plans to update the V3 to OpenELEC 6.0.0 which was released on November 1st. If so, ETA?

Yes, there are.

Venztech have told me customers should be notified of an available OTA update when they receive first V3s. So early next week.

We will have stock on Monday so pre-orders may go out a day earlier than it says on our site.

I honestly have no idea how to upgrade existing Android V3s, or if it's possible.

Firmware updates to our OpenELEC V3s is OTA, so we have no upgrade file. We may do in future, and if we do I'll post them on the forum.

Thank you. That sounds terrific! Will the V3 be added to Logitech's Harmony database for remote control with Harmony products?

I will ask Venztech to get V3 added. It's not there at the moment.
