Hi,
A couple of days ago, I bought a second-hand q5 pro.
I already own a Zidoo x9s and I'm familiar with the layout of kodi soI suspected the himedia wouldn't be much different.
I noticed immediatly that the wrapper did not load mkv files. The videoplayer would briefly pop up and disappear immediatly.
So I decided to upgrade the firmware to the latest version. This however did not work so I tried to update the wrapper, same result.
After trying some different firmwares, the player won't boot anymore. It remains stuck at the himedia logo. I must've done something wrong with the latest update. I tried to install other firmware versions, which seem to install fine, but afterwards it always stays stuck at the himedia logo.
Could someone please help me with this issue?
Thanks!

I downgraded to Android 5, the box is booting again...
Will try to upgrade to Android 7 later tonight or tomorrow.

So I got the player up and running again with the latest firmware, but the external player won't play videos.
Wrapper is set as default, I can see that the videoplayer is opening, but the movie won't start. The pop up "click when playback has ended" show up almost immediatly. My shares are not password protected, but it seems as if the himedia videoplayer doesn't find the movie.

Try to reactivate the Wrapper.-> see FAQ Thread.

Thx, will try this evening...

So define your issues exactly: where it doesn't wok, in KODI or in Media Center?
In Media Center you may create a Shortcut manually and add your sharing devices data: ip address and the shared -main- folders name. Create a separate one for each -parent- shared folder. And also: be sure there are no spaces in the shared folders names, HiMedia doesn't like that.
"Auto LAN search" doesn't work in many cases so you may have to go and try with manual input...
And first of all: in your router give fixed ip addresses for both your Box and for your PC.

I have found the shares in mediacenter (outside kodi) and added them as shortcut.
Now the wrapper is working in kodi :D

And after reboot it is no longer working :-[

Did you set the fixed ip's?
Also: To use the Wrapper with KODI you need to be sure, that Wrapper has been reactivated and you don't have password protected shares enabled on your WIN PC (switch it off).
Also: in the Win PC go to "Windows Features" and be sure that all of the SMB 1.0 features are ticked ON".

I just tried the following method:

Hopefully it keeps on working now =)

And as soon as I reboot, the shares are no longer accessible...
No problems at all on my zidoo with my shares...
Will continue tomorrow, getting tired of it :)
