I have recently purchased a HiMedia Q10 pro in the USA. This unit has the following version
Android version: 5.1.1
Kernel version: 3.18.24
Build number: HMD-1.10 2017-04-08.182342
I would like to know if I can use the following instructions as my Build is NOT HMD-1.1.0 2017-03-15
From Android 5.1 firmware version 1.1.0 the upgrade path would be 2.0.4 > 2.0.7. Read instructions in firmware threads carefully.
2.0.4: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=2096.0
2.0.7: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=2738.0

Yes. Install this first to get to 2.0.4: http://www.mediafire.com/file/bzd7e7vi9bbwz6a/Q10_PRO_FIRMWARE._ANDROID_5.1_TO_ANDROID_7_v2.0.4._FUTEKO._HMD-2.0.4_2017-07-05.191425.zip
Then 2.0.8.

I attempted to install 2.0.4: http://www.mediafire.com/file/bzd7e7vi9bbwz6a/Q10_PRO_FIRMWARE._ANDROID_5.1_TO_ANDROID_7_v2.0.4._FUTEKO._HMD-2.0.4_2017-07-05.191425.zip.
First I formatted a 8 GB pen drive FAT32. I then extracted the file to the pen drive and ended up with only the update.zip file on the pen drive. I turned the power off to the unit. I then inserted the pen drive into one of the USB ports on the side. I then press the Update button on the back by the power supply cable and held it while turned on the power for the unit. I held the button in until the droid came up and the progress bar on bottom started. bottom The progress bar went approximately 25% across the bottom of the screen and the droid fell over and flashed error on the screen. The unit then booted back up in the following version.
Android version: 5.1.1
Kernel version: 3.18.24
Build number: HMD-1.10 2017-04-08.182342
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance

You are on the right track but the upgrade did not take.
Try the upgrade process with the pin again. It should get to 100% and then boot into new version.
Good luck.

I was finally able to get my HiMedia Q10 Pro to upgrade. I found that my pen drive was faulty. I tried to transfer some files with it and found some of the files were corrupted. So I got a new pen drive and tried again. Each upgrade was successful the first try. Hope this information will help someone else.

Hi, I am wondering if I have to upgrade my Q10Pro from 5.1.1 to 7.x
The current Android version = 5.1.1 with kernel version 3.18.24
The build number = HMD-1.1.0 2017-03-15.164418
What is your experience?

Zilfer you do not have to upgrade your Q10 Pro it will run fine on your current version. However you can upgrade to a newer version of the firmware. Just be sure that you use the correct version and do it in the proper order.
