I've installed a couple custom and official firmware and now everytime it's coming up with Asian and european timezones only when setting my date and time (I'm north American) I thought it was because I installed the 2.0.8 accidentally which I noticed was a european version only after the fact but I've since downgraded to 2.0.7 custom and still the same results.. no north American timezones only chinese and eastern European

Try this
1. Go to Settings / More Settings
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the Settings menu, then Select "Date & Time."
3. Select "Select Time Zone" to view a list of time zones.
4. Scroll down the list and select a location in the desired time zone.
5. Reboot box. The time that corresponds with the new time zone appears on the display.

Thanks for the reply, but my problem isn't that I dont know how to change the timezone, my problem is only eastern European and Asian timezones are available to choose from

Did you get your firmware from this site?
My timezone (in Australia) has always been an option, with every firmware release.
