Greetings guys...is there anyone that have installed speed test by OKLA in q10 and use to measure internet speed.? I noticed that in mine the download speed and upload speed is just 25%of the actual internet speed(50 mbps) I measured with other devices.? If the speed is really that slow then why I can stream. 4k videos? Does it mean that speed test apps in Himedia are not really giving accurate readings
I also used other speed test such as Fast. Com and hot similar values.? Did anybody have the same experiences.?

My Q10 is connected with Ethernet cable. Your problem should be related with the wifi issues

what is actual wifi distance, using 2.4 or 5ghz?
compare apples with apples - what speed do u get when testing with other devices using same ookla, app, same wifi freq, same distance, same spot?
if u do not provide details, hard to comment usefully.
my experience, q10pro (and older himedia boxes) wifi module is good, no problem.

my experience, q10pro (and older himedia boxes) wifi module is good, no problem.
I usually compare at the same distance and location using a smartphone and noticed the slow internet speed which is contrary to my smartphone readings using the same OKLA speed test and testing parameters including server locations. Then how come this q10 displays lower internet speed.?

I have a 100Mbit internet connection and Q10 Pro Okla wi-fi speed test maxes it out with 98Mbit/s download speed. So not the Q10 Pro Wi-Fi power is the limit for me. The Box is like in 4m distance far from the router.

May I know how to determine if you are connected to 2.4 or 5ghz band..? The q10 is 10 feet away from the modem.

Just lately,I tested the q10 pro in nearer vicinity to the modem about feet away and noticed I got the right speed as measured with my smartphone. Could you concur this is the 5ghz band which is short range compared to the 2.4 ghz band which produces the lower speed.? If that's the case how can we extend the distance covered by the 5ghz band?

How far is your Q10 box from your router? If it's just a few metres use an ethernet cable, which will give you a much better signal.
The Q10 Pro has dual-band WiFi with 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The 2.4 GHz spectrum is now so heavily congested it is not worth using. If your router has 5 GHz then switch over to the 5GHz band and see if there is any improvement.
You should already have the app "Wifi Analyzer" on your Q10 and you can run it to find what channels are in use at your location.
If your router has external, screw-in antennae you can buy bigger, more powerful replacements. I got mine on ebay but had to import them from the USA.

How far is your Q10 box from your router? If it's just a few metres use an ethernet cable, which will give you a much better signal.

it's router, not modem.
2 antennae does not mean dual band.
there are routers with hidden, 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 antennae.
frankly, i suggest u find someone who can check yr eqpt physically and advice u rather than struggle with the keyboard here.

5Ghz is tend to be more faster at most times, but as the Wi-Fi is is technically such an unpredictable in general (depending on many various environmental circumstances), there's no fix point to give a perfect advise. Switching the HiMedia to the 5GHz band SSID (you should may set first a differential SSID in the router, to independently recognize it) may end better results. There's -maybe- also an alternate option to change the band "channels" in your router, to a less occupied one (by your surroundings Wi-Fi-s), that may could also benefit on the 2.4GHz. For that see your routers manual.
And as the best tip: simply use cables. CAt5e or Cat6 UTP for a more predictable and stable bandwidth (specially for 4K videos, I would say it's essential).

But take care, this may NOT solve your problem if your router is in a different room from the Q10 with brick walls in the way! As others have said here, a wired Cat6a Ethernet cable connecting your router to your Q10 is the BEST solution for streaming video from Netflix, Amazon, Google, YouTube ...

Greetings maelor..... I realize I need to put a router which c as n enhance the wifi signals.... But one thing I noticed, this q10 antenna looks flake.. It easily become loose if you move gently for better signal reception... I don't know if other users experienced this.
