Hi,
Satisfied with the Q10, but I have a weird issue. Each time when we play a movie for the first time on that day, it stops after a minute or so. When I push pauze I only see the info screen, but the movie has stopt, audio and video. The only solution is to push stop, and play it again.
I watch the movies on the projector. It seems that its not happening when we watch the movies on the television, but I have to test that further.
After the first time, it doesnt matter what for movie it is, the second attempt is fine. I run the movie through kodi and the scraper, so it plays on the Himedia mediaplayer. Firmware is 2.07 custom.
Is there a known issue here? I read a lot about framerate issues, but does that count for 2.07 also? It seems when it happens that the handshaking is totaly gone between Himedia and the projector.
I hope someone can point me in a direction how to solve this.

The test is still young but it seems good when I switch off 24hz in the config. so dashboard is 60hz, movie is 24hz. But now 24 hz is off it plays on 60hz afcours and it seems good. Maybe this info brings something?

Possibly a problem with projector settings. Can you force the projector into 24Hz mode (in fact 23.976Hz because most 24p film is actualy 23.976p)?
-
Maybe I can force the projector but that is not needed with any other multimedia player I had. I had at least 4 mediaplayers that didnt behave like this towards the projector. With this knowledge I think the conclusion is that the Himedia is responsible?
-
I think the problem might be that your projector doesn't like 23.976Hz input. Since the HiMedia is outputting 23.976fps correctly at 23.976Hz this is not a problem of the Himedia. Other media players often incorrectly output 23.976fps at 24Hz.
What model projector is it? Is there a setting somewhere for how it deals with 24Hz?
-
Thanks for trying to solve this.
All my mediaplayers did output 23,976 always. I know the technique. The projector is an Epson TW5000. The reason I mention all the mediaplayers before is too minimize the options. I have been playing with standalone mediaplayers since day one. Besides that its affects also movies with a different framerate then 23.976.
It seems a combination between the himedia and the Epson. Why it would fall of after 1 minute, and the second time it runs perfectly trough the movie.
I must say that the Epson is always slow in changing framerate. Those projectors always are, but Epsons from this generation are very slow in switching.
UPDATE:
While the projector still only behaves like this in combination with the Himedia (I've got many other HDMI devices also) , I found something.
1. Its also there when I play the movie directly through the Himedia mediaplayer.
2. I thought it was also there in the interface without starting a movie but it isn't. Only with the movie after a minute. The last movie was black screen with only audio, and the movie returned perfectly after 5 seconds!

Ok, here is a more clear report after weeks trying to figure out when exact the problem occures
Problem: After 1-2 minutes the movie stops. The time indication on the display of the Q10 is frozen. Picture and sound are gone. When I push return twice on the remote the Q10 goes back to the interface and I can start a movie again without problems. Only the first time the problem is there.
- The problem is also on televisions, so nothing to do with the projector
- The problem is within Kodi and in the Himedia player
- MKV's are all on my Synology NAS. The NAS is there for years and the Network is fine. All other mediaplayers are doing great.
Next test will be to play a movie from an USB.
Is there someone that has a clue what this can be?

The issue occurs with Kodi internal player or with wrapper?
-
himedia player directly and wrapper. not sure about internal kodi. I will test that again. But what are the options here.
-
I had similar problems with CFW 2.0.6. But only till like 15mins after a bootup. Newer detected with OFW.
-
thx mount81, that exactly can be the issue here also. I always have this in the first run and thats always after a first boot also. Maybe it wasnt the first movie but only the first boot afterall.
What do you advise. I am on CFW 2.07.
-
I'm on OFW 2.0.6 at the moment, it's the best working one for me so far. 2.0.7 has more bugs introduced, and there's not enough feedback yet on 2.0.8 if it would worth it.

First test after 20 minutes bootup succesfull!
When this is true there must be more owners having this problem? Is there nothing known about this then?
-
Mount81 is right. second and third test good. When I wait 15 minutes after bootup all video's run perfectly. There must be an explanation to it.
