A user on freaktab forum has posted a modified version of H8 Kodi 15.0 that claims internal 4K support.

You'll need to uninstall pre-installed Kodi first (Settings - More - Apps - Kodi - Uninstall).

In a way, this is a taste of things to come.

Expect H8 to have full 7.1 audio passthrough, 3D, and 4K support in Kodi (without wrapper) soon.

Hopefully HiMedia will do a better job than Zidoo is doing with X6 at the moment. But, there are a lot of things to like about Zidoo & X6 as well (assuming they fix 3D issues).

BTW, any indication from HiMedia as to when we'll see a new H8 firmware? Thanks.

I think that the firmware solutions won't come from Himedia...........but as always you never know..
There are so many RK 3368 based boxes available, so it will be a matter of time and goodwill of RK before a full blown firmware will be available. It seems that many companies are focusing on
further development within Kodi. 

Till today no news from Himedia.........maybe they are preparing a full blown firmware to kick everybody arse.. :) :)

Would be cool. Think 3D ISO & HD audio will happen via Kodi, but less sure about Rockchip & proper 23.976 and 59.940.
