Title: Webcam problem with Skype
Post by: aure on September 24, 2015, 05:14:34 AM
Hello.

Using the Logitech C270 webcam, I only can use the MIC, I can't use the video.
I use firmware 3.0.1.1 FUTEKO-EN

On the Skype contact, I can see the camera icon, but when I click on it to start video call, nothing happens.
I can click on audio icon to start a audio call.
On the audio call window, the camera icon is off. If I click on it to start video, it stops the call.

On firmware 1.0.8 and Skype from playstore, Skype did not even propose me the icon for video call.
I checked my webcam is working well on my computer.

Anyone is experiencing this ?
I will do more tests tonight.

Thanks for you help/advice.

I've tested this (happen to have a C270 here) and I confirm that it doesn't work.

I've been discussing it with Himedia and they are looking into it. I believe the C270 did used to work on the Q5/Q10, but we're not sure exactly when the regression happened. Logitech are the most popular brand of webcam, Himeda appreciate this and will get it working again.

Thanks.

Do you know which HD webcams with mic are currently working with Q5/Q10 ?

Best regards

We have no list and Himedia say they don't have one either. My advice previously was that Logitech always works, but that's obviously been proven not now correct.

Himedia are looking at the Logitech problem and will fix it. I'm sorry I can't give a better answer.

OK, I have a working C270 with Skype on Q5.

First thing to try is updating Skype to latest version using Play Store.

Then reboot the Q5 with the webcam plugged in. Webcam must be plugged in before boot.

It should work.

If that doesn't work then try this version of Skype: http://www.mediafire.com/download/71lmqojo9kdw9am/Skype.apk

Hello,
I replied to fast.
I can see myself when Skype is calling, then our window disappear and other can't see me. I tried your Skype version and the latest on the play store.

But it works fine with Hangouts.
So it's a Skype problem.

Thanks and keep you updated if this get solved.
