I like very much my Himedia Q5 Pro BUT the software/firmware is rubbish. I have been running my unit on Kodi 15.1 and system 5.1 and everything works brilliantly. On 4 occasions I have installed Android 7 and Krypton and the results have been nothing but pathetic. Now I am going to stick with 5.1 and have no problems with DTS-X or ATMOS passthrough and numerous other minor points.

I bet you have not tried CFW from pcristi. Kodi 15.1 is too old now. I personally find Kodi 17.x to be quite stable and full of features.

Yes I did try the latest custom firmware but had problems with that too. I know that lots of people like to try the latest and greatest (I know I do) but sometimes the old and trusted wins over like 5.1
