I see a lot of talk about how desirable the Imprex Processing Engine is but I can't find any description of what exactly it does to the picture. Would anyone be kind enough to enlighten me?

This is not a technical answer but it improves contrast and sharpness.
I am a cynic when it comes to digitally improving video, but the Q5/Q10 can display give a split screen of with/without ExpressX and it really does look loads better.
You also get extra brightness, contrast, hue, saturation modes to play with and some auto-contrast/colour modes.

It works similar to Darbee if you're familiar with it. I'm not a fan of any digital video processing, wanting the picture output as is, so disabled it. But, some find that the image engine enabled in Q5/Q10 gives HiMedia an Oppo-like PQ.

Thank you all. So how does one disable this feature on the Q5? I would like it play with it a bit but suspicious that I won't end up wanting it.
Nevermind. I found it and disabled it. I understand why people may think this looks better but it looks like a basic boost in contrast and color to me. I would prefer my media player play my video as transparently as possible.
