I have a Q5 Pro and I'm wondering if the Movie Bar app can scan locations other than Lan and SD Card. I have some items on the internal storage of the unit but it has no option to scan. The Hi Media player can scan all items on the SD card and internal to the Q5 but not the Movie Bar. Thanks for any clarification.

What is "Movie Bar app"??
Do you mean Kodi or MediaCenter or some other Android player app you have installed?
The Q5 does not have the capacity for an internal drive (like the Q10 does) so do you mean an external USB drive perhaps?

The Movie Bar app is an app that comes with v2.0.4 or 2.0.6 on both Q10 and Q5. It's an app included in the firmware of the devices by HiMedia. If you look in the apps location of your box you'll see it there. The Q5 has the ability to use an SD card or it's own internal storage space in flash. It shows up when using the file manager. The Movie Bar app can see external media like SD but won't detect internal flash storage where you might have placed the odd small mpeg file. Thanks.

A third-rate app supplied by HiMedia which does very little. It seems to think that many of the movies on my box are Chinese :o. I would suggest that you remove it.

Yes, I found the Movie Bar App as described but have never found reason to use it.
Suggest you use the well tested MediaCenter as your main player (and/or Kodi) and you will find SD Card easily listed and able to play most codecs.
If you can fit the videos on the Q5's main memory SD drive (which includes the operating system), the files will no doubt be quite small.
