hi
why in the q5 pro and q10pro isnt possible to watch movie with H.265/HEVC Main/10bit profile@Level5.1 High ?
only profile 4.1 supported with hevc ,but the processor is the same as eqreat a5 and a10 ,that can use and watch hevc 5.1 profile?
if the processore and the gpu is the same its only a software problem, means that a new firmware can solve this!!!!
why didnt you put the 5.1 profile enable? i have a clue...... maybe the customers have to spend more money and change tv box ?!?!?!?!?
maybe is just a marketing.....off course....money can do everything..... :(
-
The Q5 Pro and Q10 Pro to support the H.265/HEVC Main/10bit level. UHD-BD compatible.
Specification detail:
HDR, or High Dynamic Range, delivers an image with wider dynamic colour range. This means richer and more nuanced colours, deeper blacks, and an overall more immersive image. HiMedia Q10 Pro supports 10bit HDR10.
The old modell (Q5, Q10) not support 10bit HEVC.
-
Well, I just watched a movie on Q5 Pro that was in HEVC/Main 10/L5.1/High - so your information about that profile not being supported is wrong.
Why do you think it is not supported?
-
ive tried many test.
the hevc 1080p profile@Level5.1 High and 10bit depth dont go.....no image....
hevc profile 4.1 high and 10 bit depth go well .....but 5.1 and 10bit dont go...
im sure of this....
but its stupid thing....cause the a5 and a10 egreat have same processor and support 5.1 hevc with 10bit

Have you actually tried Egreat on the same equipment (HDMI cable+TV+possible AVR in the middle, etc)? If not, it is possible that you have a weak link in your whole chain that causes no image on TV as result. One of possible causes could be also HDMI bandwidth which is quite high on example you're talking about. What about frame rate of your content that produces no image - if its like 60fps, than it could easily be the bandwidth related problem in correlation with poor HDMI cable for example.
Here are the details of the movie, that works fine on Q5 Pro:

Hi,
I have installed the latest version "HMD-2.0.7 2018-01-12.113104" and trying to play media files through Media player (not KODI).
Most of the files (90%) do not play. Some files do not play at all, while other starts playing and after few seconds stops playing. I checked all files using my laptop and all works fine.
Here is mediainfo for 2 of them

I am trying to play 4k videos and my Display is a Epson 5030 (1080p) and they do not play using the wrapper.
Blue Planet/Planet Earth..

What settings would help?
Thanks!

Strange, I did not encounter problems with any 4k content so far.
Based on your description it could be bandwidth related problem. How are video files feed to Media player? Locally attached HDD, USB key, LAN (what is the connection speed?), WiFi,...?
-
Please upload a sample.
-
I have no problems with playing the 140Mbit/s test video (http://jell.yfish.us/) from a USB 3.0 HDD plugged in the USB 2.0 port.
But still could be port power insufficiency in your case. Can be the Power adapter, or/and if you have more power demanding USB devices/internal HDD plugged in at once. Or your USB HDD simply has over-regular power demand.
-
I'd like a sample, at least then the problem can be determined to be either universal to all Q10 Pro (i.e. format not supported) or something specific to this box.
-
Just another tip: How about disk fragmentation and enough free space on the HDD? These (and specially their combination) can also cause performance issues.
You can check it with Windows Disk Defragmenter. And if the HDD lacks enough free space (it varies how much by the overall size of the HDD), it's also advised to free up a couple more GB-s (sometimes several 10GBs)...
-
Please don't post the same thing multiple times in multiple threads.
I think this thread is actually most relevant to this problem, so I am going to merge the other thread into this one.

Main 10@L5.1@High is wrong codec :o.
I suppose you try to watch 4K UHD Untouched , this mkv video are mix from BD UHD video trace(from english region ) and DB audio trace (from other region like italy ).
This video are not true Untouched or not true 4K UHD, it's a fake.
Wait true 4K UHD when release in your region.

What do you mean by wrong codec? Main 10@L5.1@High is perfectly legal HEVC profile with max bitrate of up to 160.000 kbps (check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Efficiency_Video_Coding_tiers_and_levels). Why do you think media player "cares" if mkv has different video and audio tracks as long as they are in accordance with codes profiles and rules?
I suspect the problem is not in the HEVC profile Main 10@L5.1@High itself, but in the bitrate that Media Player is able to handle. That is why some users report they have no problem playing such files, but others do. Profile itself only defines MAX bitrate. When having time, I'll check a little bit more and get back with results. Because when dealing with high bitrates you have to be careful that transport in any stage is not the real bottleneck (like HHD, USB interface, network,...).
-
Hello,
I've tested various HEVC bitrate samples from http://jell.yfish.us/ from 120 to 400 Mbps. Samples were played with internal player via Media Center from three different sources:
1. LAN, 1Gbps, SAMBA
2. 160 GB HHD SATA HHD put into USB 3.0 reader which was connected once to USB2 and another time to USB3.0 port of Q5Pro with 2.0.7 firmware.
Based on the results (see attachement) I would say that Q5Pro is perfectly able to play at least Main 10@L5.1@High profile. That is if you stream content from transport providing enough bandwitch - for example connecting player to cheap 100Mbps switch won't do it. Success of playing profiles with higher bitrates (above 160 Mbps) depends on the used transport/hardware/etc.

are you joking ?
the codec is pefect legal , and if i want, i can mux the uhd from english with any language i want....
to problem is not related with different framerate with video and audio....
if i take a video trace form a uhd bd and i put in the matrioska conteiner with any language i want ,in the end ,the result is a uhd remux perfect fine and not fake....

It seems you mixed-up things a little bit. You're talking about LEGAL things ('fake' video), while the topic is about TECHNICAL thing. It's probably clear that you can not compare or discuss such things together....

i am talk about TECHNICAL ;),this video are "home make" with x.265 encoder , not true demux plus extra audio .
True BD 1:1 rip and true UHD remux / UNTOUCHED work without issues .

but looun ,sorry, the uhd remux are only video track ,and i can mux with any language....
plus , the uhd stream , are encoded in x265 format ...and in "main level 5 high"
and i dont understand what you mean...
this is a example about video stream in a iso full uhd (not fake not remux, real full iso)

It seems most of the videos with L5.1 High were working fine with 2.0.6 (which came preinsalled on Q10 Pro), when I upgraded to 2.0.7 firmware it stopped working. Now looking to rollback the update to 2.0.6.
That is odd. As you can see the results from my test few posts above, 2.0.7 is able to play L5.1 High just fine.
However, there are reports that Q10Pro with installed HD does suffer from insufficient power supply. See http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=3280.0 and try better power supply.
