Just got the Q10 Pro for Xmas from Futeko as a gift.
After 5 hours I gave up trying to install an internal HDD. I tried two HDD's clean formatted to NTFS, the drives spin up when inserted but the box will NOT recognise them.
OK so I thought I'd give up on that and try connecting a 2TB external USB and this is working fine to play 4k files from, however I am unable to connect to it to upload any files via ethernet, either FTP or Samba.
On Samba the only option I am presented with when mapping the drive is for internal storage. For FTP I am connecting fine but this time only get to see a blank directory, no files or storage at all.
To keep the question simple, how do I get to the external USB via Samba? Any help gratefully appreciated.

To install it as internal hard drive:
With disk management in windows
Erase all partitions
Convert to GPT
Create new simple volume

Connect your HiMedia box to your computer using a USB cable.
Open the HiMedia box, take out the HDD and then re-insert it, making sure the HDD is firmly connected to the SATA connector in the box.
Can your computer see the HDD now? If it can, use the computer to format the disk again, making sure you select the GPT option first!!! Do not use MBR!
How did you format the disk originally?
