Hi, i have one question about playing mkv files with hd multichannel audio on Q10 PRO. I am planning to buy this media player but I need to be shure that there won't be a problem with audio passtrough to my AV receiver Onkyo RZ800. It is capable of decoding all digital sound formats but i saw some posts on this forum regardin problem with audio passtrough on Q10 PRO. I own Sony Bravia 55X9005E which does not support hd audio passtrough so i am looking for solution in Q10 PRO. Thanks in advance!

Q10 Pro is able to passthrough all HD audio formats when using HiMedia mediaplayer app or Kodi + wrapper (wrapper makes video play using Himedia mediaplayer).

I have Onkyo Av receiver too, but model RZ1100 with LG oled 65" and himedia Q10 pro play perfectly all audio file as DTS-HD. DTS-X, dolby true, dolby atmos , AC3, atc.........I have 7.1.2 audio system

I have Denon AVR- x2400h, himedia q5pro connected via HDMI .
Couldn't get AAC 5.1 passthrough no matter what I've tried .
Internal Kodi player could passtrough only stereo PCM (official firmware )and 5.1 at Custom firmware .
As for the Wrapper or Himedia player they couldn't handle
AAC 5.1 at all.
PS. Himedia audio output setting, tried every single variation, I believe .

Almost forgot , any other sound format ( DD, DTS, Atmos etc)
Passing through not a bother with Himedia player or Wrapper.

AAC 5.1 still works on Media Center player (and therefore Kodi with wrapper) with latest firmware 2.0.6. Are you on an older release?
The only weird audio issue I have found is with FLAC 7.1 when it needs a second audio track (on the same video file) to be able to play in 7.1. This has been like it for a few upgrades.

Further to @alec76 (who has also sent PM's) query on AAC 5.1, I finally found some AAC 5.1 test samples from this page:
http://www.mpeg-audio.org/download.html
File downloaded: Audio_Video_5_1_Multichannel_Dash
I can confirm that the Q10Pro passes HE-AAC 5.1 audio files from 67,000bps all the way up to:
sintel-master-51_48000_fixed-en-888s-6-heaac-320,000bps to my Yamaha AVR and they play fine in 5.1 using MediaCenter player.
The 7.1 AAC samples from the same site DO NOT PLAY.
A lot will depend on the encoding of the original file being played.

Hello,
I have the problem with audio too.
I have the latest firmware 2.06 on the Q10 pro
With the Media Center I can not hear DTS HD 5.1 (only a very silent sound) . DTS HD 7.1 works. (Kodi with wrapper too)
Both are on the same iso blu ray that I have. The 5.1 is german and the 7.1 englisch.
I have under sound in the settings from the q10 pro HBR downgrade on auto.
When I switch HBR auto to RAW 5.1 the 5.1 work. I can hear the sound.
It look that the q10 pro not switch automtic between 5.1 and 7.1 by DTS HD 5.1
The normal DTS 5.1 work.
I think it could be too if you have one DTS HD 7.1 and a DTS HD 5.1 in a movie that the q10pro not work on HBR auto.
When I use Kodi without the wrapper I get only pcm 2.0 sound out. I not know why. Perhabs I have settings wrong.

Why would You ever limit HBR to 5.1?
If you set it to 5.1 , no 7.1 stream will passtrough to AVR . This parameter always has to be set to 7.1, unless your AVR not capable to decode 7.1 streams.

Hah, seems to be a rather very old issue: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=606.0 (http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=606.0)-> Even Q5/Q10 4K3D (2014 Generation) had this bug.

My sound problem is the following:
In mediacenter (I don;t use Kodi) all kinds of sound formats play without a problem. Provided I play the movie/sound through my YAMAHA RX-V675 receiver connected by high quality HDMI 2.0a cable. Then I switch to for example youtube. Again no problem. There is sound through receiver.
But when I turn the receiver off because I only want to watch the news on TV there is no more sound from the TV. Then I need to switch off TV then back on before there is sound again. I am on firmware 2.0.6 official.
