Title: too dark and too bright

Hi! Last week I have got Q10 Pro choosed for my Dolby Atmos capable sound system. For sound Q10 Pro is perfect, but I have a special issue with the picture, especially colour. I hope that can be solved...

My system:
NAS SYNOLOGY DS212j -> UTP cable -> Asus RT-AC66U/EEU/13/P_EU router -> UTP cable -> Himedia Q10 Pro -> HDMI cable -> Pioneer SC-LX78-S AVR -> HDMI cable -> BenQ W1110 projector

Until last week I have used RPi3+LibreELEC 8.2.0 (Kodi 17.5 Krypton) as a media player, and its quality of picture was perfect, the basic settings were ok. I did not change anything.

So last week I have changed only the media player, that's why I supposed there is something with Q10 Pro. Its colours are too dark and too bright in the same time. Like white and black colours could have only few shades. 

I have tried adjust settings on Himedia and the projcktor as well from gamma through brightness to contrast. No great pricture as before. Q10 Pro "Video color space & HDMI deep color" is set to RGB444 10bit. Firmware is updated last week for Himedia and Kodi as well.

RGB 4:4:4 might be your problem!

Yes, set it o either ycbcr 422 or 444 (see with your own eyes which produces better PQ, but should be only minor difference).

I changed to YCbCr444 10bit, and maybe... maybe yes, there is a bit of difference.
Actually I do not know, maybe my eyes fail me...

To understand more clearly what I mean... I have just watched the following movies (Dunkirk, War for the Planet of the Apes, Dallas Buyers Club), and the shades of dark clothes are blurred. Seems to me at least... I do not see the dress line of coats etc. Maybe it is in the material of the certain movies... but I do not know...

Try to set the Imprex engine OFF. I had some similar -but not mayor- effects with darker areas while Imprex was ON.  For anything above HD there's no really sense to use the Imprex anyway, all the more the PQ is mostly better and more natural when turned OFF.

Furthermore, maybe you would have to calibrate you'r projectors picture settings a bit to fit better to the Box.

I tried Imprex engine settings earlier but that did not helped. But...
I have found a calibrated settings guide for Benq W1070 which is ancestor of my W1110. (https://www.soundandvision.com/content/benq-w1070-3d-dlp-projector-settings) Using these settings the colors became much better, I have got detailed black again. I am now hopeful!
In this article a Digital Video Essentials HD Basics (Blu-ray) was recommended, I am going to use it for further testing and adjusting.
Thank you for your help, it seems to be just a Himedia-Benq synchronization problem!
