The Kodi "Backup" add-on is causing error messages. You need to update the add-on to version 1.1.0!
It's only available from GitHub currently: https://github.com/robweber/xbmcbackup/
It should be include in the next full Kodi release.
Download it as a zip file to the Download folder on the SD card and install it from there.
I've tested it successfully with Kodi 18.0 (arm7) and Kodi 18.0 (x64)
You will need to re-do the Settings for the add-on before you try a backup or restore!!!

I almost went nuts looking for a solution. I have an issue with Kodi 17 and backup plugin. Thank you for posting it here.

Yes, it's been bugging me for several days too. I found the solution on the Kodi Community Forum, but I had to dig deep to find it.

thx for the info

This should be linked in the FAQ. It is extremely important. I know I am using the backup to be able to have Kodi up and running a lot faster than just by doing it manually. Addons are not updated (for some unknown reason) after a clean install of Kodi. I have the extra addons locally (like Frequency Switcher). As soon as I discovered the Backup addon, I started using it.

how can i copy the zip-file from my pc to the q5?

You could copy the file from your computer onto a USB Memory Stick and then copy it from there to the Q5's Download folder..
A better way would be to copy the file to Google Drive on your computer and then download it from Google Drive on your Q5 to the Download folder on the SD card.
But the best way is not to use your computer at all! Simply download the file on your Q5 using the Google Chrome app (or any other internet browser). It will download straight into the Download folder on the SD card. Install it from there.

Sorry, but your problem is Kodi 16 >:(. The new version of Backup only works with Kodi 17 and 18!

Kodi has finally got around to fixing the add-on directly. The Kodi forum noted the issue and had to wait for it to be officially released.
It can be updated from within Kodi and now works again ;D
(Kodi 17.6, firmware 2.0.6)
