Hello!
Due this long lasting "video flickering" issue with the Imprex engine, which doesn't seem to be solved since the beginning, and cause the rather mysterious and unpredictable trigger of it's occurrence (which strongly presumes, that it may also has to do something with the users specific video chains, like the display, avr and cable type), I made an easy to "fill and see" survey, to get somewhat closer to the revealing of the possible roots/causes of this problem.
While we're still -deep- in the guessing period regarding the bugs causes, but I would tip that it -may also- has something to do with some kind of "incompatibility" between the particular TV sets and/or cables used in the video chain towards the HiMEdia Box, that may rests on some kind of malfunction of the HDMI Handshake, EDID info and/or CEC communication.
The result will be later -of course- send to HiMedia, with the hope, that they will analyze and that it -may- could be helpful to them (by any means) to get a better fix/solution for this issue in the upcoming firmware releases.
Here's the link to the survey:

And here you can see the results collected so far:

Please fill the survey if you can, thank you!

For me, by far, the most noticeable video regarding the Imprex engine flickering is this one. I ask to anyone who says it never noticed it please watch this video in you Himedia box with the YouTube App:

So, I have to UP this Thread, to keep on caught any -new and old- possible and probable users attention continuously...
Hope, you don't mind. :)
P.s.: It's all for the sake -and "hope"- of make these Devices better, by an user level community "survey project", pls take that in consideration...

I don't mind, but it should be mentioned that this issue/feature/bug can be solved by disabling Imprex, which many users will want to do anyway.

Disabling Imprex engine look stop to help start with FW v2.0.3 when OMX decoding use. For example when use YouTube apps and other official streaming providers.

Up again! :)

Up again! :)
If you keep bumping the thread I will lock it.
I don't mind discussion of any aspect of our products but this is an issue that we/himedia are aware of, is well publicised, and it is only really you who persist in bumping the thread.

I'm not "bumping" anything. I just wanted to be visible on the first page of the forum, as it has been slipped to the second page. All for the sake of better perceptibility for any possible users who didn't noticed since and as it's essential for and by the meaning of this thread and one should have also easily figured out that it won't go around "for years"... But that's just explaining the trivial against some contradictious admin bossing...
Whatever, no more Ups from me here and "thank you for this exemplary attitude and support"!

" Hardware decoding with HiMedia's unrivalled image quality and Imprex 2.0 image processing works for H.264/H.265/HEVC video up to 4K60."
If Himedia can't get it to work than just remove it or at least tell us why isn't working and when it will be. It's ridiculous that the one of first things I do after upgrade the firmware is disable the Imprex engine.

Imprex on Q5/Q10 Pro is over vigorous with contrast adjustment, which some people don't like. It's not really a bug as such, it's just how it works. I have mentioned to HiMedia many times that some users would prefer it more subtle, and they say they'll look at it. But, ultimately, if they decide that's how they want it to be then that's how it will be.

That's the definition of bumping in relation to an internet forum.
