Hello back, it's been awhile
I just updated today my q10 pro from android 5.1 1.1.0 to android 7 2.0.5 firmware cause I saw some bugs was fixed on it ... That's really good, it gives us more hopes
Now my issue is with windows samba server, I explain : I have a windows 10 pc connected wirelessly to the same network router of the q10 pro, on the pc I have a shared folder with security full control enabled to everyone .
But the problem is the himedia media center won't connect to this folder, it says "network error"
With android 5.1 firmware I didn't have any problem with this
Even with my smartphone there is no problem ...
Then what's the solution please ?
Thanks

Okay I'm giving up ...
I had other bugs :'(
I go back to 5.1 more stable remaining just one bug : restart result in crash so I have to unplug and plug again the power cable everytime I shutdown the device
Everything else works fine

If 2.0.4 was -somehow- OK enough for you, than you should have tried to manually add your sharing machines ip address and the shared folder(s) (one-by one) name in media center "Shortcut" option or juts in KODI add SMB source option.
This is also juts the way how it works for me.

Will there be new android 5.1 firmware someday ?

Unlikely. HiMedia want all users to migrate to Android 7.
For the shared folder, try allocating PC a fixed IP address and entering IP + share details manually in Himedia mediacenter.

Ok so I will wait till they fix this on a new android 7 firmware
I had another bug on 2.0.5 also : I have T3 air mouse remote and in chrome when I wanted to scroll the page, the mouse was selecting text instead ...
-
Hello back here !
Just to say that this issue is fixed on 2.0.7 firmware but the one with chrome and T3 remote is not (select text instead of scrolling the web page)
So I will go back to 1.1.0 and wait next Android 7 firmware again ... I am used to now ::)
Edit : For me Android 5 1.1.0 is the most stable firmware
-
The problem is still there in 2.0.8
Google chrome select text instead of scrolling with my T3 remote
Please help ! :-\
It's the only issue left, everything else works fine
Edit : another thing, I have samson go mic direct microphone plugged to the box for skype and it works well no problem but I thought on android 7 that I will be able to use this mic with google assistant ... unfortunately the app doesn't work with it :-\ the 4 little dots are not waving when I talk, they stay fixed

2.0.8
2.0.6 is more stable ?
I've never tried 2.08, 2.06 as been very stable that's why I didn't upgrade yet.
-
Ok thank you
I will test it tonight and see if I already have the problem
Edit : I notice something in 2.0.8 as you say before : when I change hdmi tv source and go back to himedia hdmi source, firefox starts alone and open a new tab ... But it doesn't start at boot

It has happened to me before that firefox would randomly start when playing a movie. I've reported this to Himedia but it appears it wasn't fixed yet, it's a shame because the latest firefox version is very good.
-
Yeah, now it happens for me too and not just when I change tv source
It randomly starts alone but it's not very common just sometimes when it wants ... It's annoying for sure
Between, why are you using firefox ? Do you have the same problem as me ?

Because of extensions, mainly popup blocker
-
There is also microsoft Edge ( I have the same problem like chrome with it on 2.0.8 )
There's no ad blocker for it ?

Never tried Edge in Android but I think it uses the same "engine" as chrome.
Yes, there's adblock for Firefox in Android just like in the desktop version.

Ok I went back to 2.0.6 but it didn't solve my issue with chrome, even worse : I had the samba problem that was in 2.0.5 ! (see my first post) :'(
So now I give up ... Hands down ... :-[
If 2.0.8 is the last android 7 firmware then I'm afraid of staying always on 1.1.0 :-\
Changing the box (to nvidia shield for example) will be the only solution for me to upgrade to android 7 then ???
I need to think about it
Anyway thanx for helping stl

You can still scroll with the direction buttons on the remote. However in mobile view the browser should react to the OK click as it would be a "tap", therefore, with up and down swinging it should have result in scrolling. But if it selects the test instead it indicates that it recognizes the OK button rather as a mouse click. Which is not OK, as the Andorid version of the browsers shouldn't bother with mouse clicking by default.
Maybe HiMedia changed/missed something in the recent firmwares regarding the input devices driver configurations.

My usb mic is not detected on 2.0.8, this is another bug ...
-
Ok, i update this topic :
I use Firefox now to "bypass" this problem because there is no solution for it and firefox doesn't select text but scrolls normally (for some weird reasons ??? )
Anyway, now I want News Feed in firefox homepage ... Can someone help me to make it because I have troubles ?
Thank you
