Title: New HDD
Post by: maelor on September 10, 2017, 02:53:46 PM: The HDD in my Q10 is getting full and needs to be replaced. Would you recommend a WD Black, Blue or Red???

The Black would be an overkill, and the RED is more widely current and fair enough for casual NAS/streaming usage.

My reasons: reliability, and lower power requirements w/ regards to others.

Yes, I agree that the HGST drive are far more reliable than those of Western Digital but, running at 7200 rpm, the HGST also run noisy and hot (when both idle and active)! HGST (formerly Hitachi) are now owned by Western Digital!!!
