Got my new Q10 a few days ago and have done the upgrade from 5.1 to android 7. Seems to have worked ok but cant install addons within kodi. Makes a start and Q10 crashes. Any ideas please.
Also in Settings About
New controller detected. go to Settings System Settings Input yes new screen with various game controllers . I don't have a Game Controller only an air mouse.
In Settings About Device info shows Q10 Pro Android 5.1.1 Kernel 3.18.24 Build number HMD-1.1.0.2017-04-08.182342
SN Number HMDB501705002875. Memory 2gb Storage size Total 16gb 10.95 available
Does this mean Upgrade to Android 7 has failed
Help.......

The upgrade failed, you still gave android 5.1.1. In device info you should have android 7.0 HMD 2.04

I've replied in more detail in your other thread, but follow instructions here exactly: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=2096.0

Still a very, very confused newbie. I have done exactly what you have said. The unzipped file was given a name of "update" on Win 7 laptop sved on the usb stick. Device info screen shows
Andoid 7 onl7 no other details
Kernel 3.18.24
HMD-2.0.4 2017-07-05. 191425
Is this the correct update file or should it be 174159 instead of 191245.
-
You might have an option in your file explorer to hide known extensions and if that's the case you won't be see "update.zip" , only "update" . You open the original file you downloaded and extract update from it to the usb flash drive

Hi all. Finally got Android 7 running with Kodi 17.4 . When I try to get addons in Kodi the q10 powers down continually. Seems that maybe this is a faulty box. With or without air mouse the same problem happens. U tube works fine so don't know what to do. Just addons in Kodi.

following on from your first post, it appears you have not disabled "joystick control" which is one of Kodi 17's little extra surprises....
Follow the FAQ:
Stop Kodi 17 new remote message and disabled back / menu buttons?
In Kodi, go Add-ons / My add-ons / Peripheral libraries / Joystick Support / Disable
You should be ok after that.
-
Disabled as per your guide. Box still powers down for unknown reason during add source in file manager.
-
Are your Kodi add-ons authorised ones from Kodi.tv website or something else? There are often compatibility issues with "other " non-official add-ons.

Hi. I don't know if the addon is official or not trying to use ************8

Hi. I don't know if the addon is official or not trying to use ***********
Ok. Definitely not an official add-on supplied or supported by Kodi. Appears to be an *BANNEDWORD* replacement.
Best place is to Google installation instructions or some other forum that supports pirate add-ons..... (not here or Kodi forum).

Hi. I don't know if the addon is official or not trying to use Covenant.
You might want to read this before you start using addons to download illegal videos:

Thanks for your advice. I have read article but its not videos I want to download. I am abroad and only want to watch some uk tv.

Some Kodi addons still don't work properly with Kodi 17. This is not a Q10 Pro problem.
The box shouldn't be powering down though, what else do you have installed? How much free internal storage is there?
-
I have only installed ***** addon. Its not Powering down any more.
Thanks
