is there a self-diagnostic function or app to check the memory CPU and auxiliary processes.
I am having so many problems I am beginning to wonder if there is a fault with my box

If you're running firmware 2.0.3 and getting instability, it's a symptom of that firmware. It's the worst Q5/Q10 Pro firmware.
There will be a new Android 7 firmware this week which I strongly recommend anyone running 2.0.3 to install. Or, alternatively, the CS custom version of 2.0.3 fixes the biggest source of instability.
There is a diagnostic tool here, but it's mainly for AV parameters: http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=1086.0
