I have the Q10 Pro now more than a year. Until Kodi 17 officially came out, the Q10 pro worked perfectly.
Mainly, I use him to stream via Kodi.
Recently, he is striking more streams with Kodi 16.1
Now I have also tried SPMC, but he also strikes the streams.
I have not tried Kodi 17.x because the audio passthrough does not work with the Q10 Pro.
I now have firmware 1.0.9 still getting up and dare not to update if I read all the problems here with the newer firmwares!
What can I do now? Wait for HiMedia to get a good update?
-
are you using the wrapper? 7.1 passthrough works fine using the wrapper with Kodi 17.3 and Firmware 2.0.3 (I don't stream, only playback from HDD and NAS).
-
Did you tried latest shitty build?

Wrapper does not work with streams!?
Do I need to update firmware first to use that shitty build?
-
Did you tried the latest version of SPMC (16.7.0)? http://spmc.semperpax.com/
This version is upgraded with the latest python (and the vulnerability bug fixed), so the streams not playing before must be fixed with this version (because of the old python - some streams didn't load because of SSL problems.). Forget about Kodi 17 and stick with Jarvis. It works perfect here.
Also if you want to test Krypton with Jarvis, you should use my Kodi addon for some thesting (http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=2004.0).
Try the 'High Bitrate Sample Videos' and then Sintel (1920x1080). It runs smooth on SPMC and on Kodi 17 I can get it to run as smooth (also with hardware acceleration off). This is not the problem you're now having (streams not running on Jarvis), but it's great for some comparing :)
-
Thank you, yes I tried the last version of SPMC, but didn't work with the streams.
Now I already have updated to the last firmware 2.0.3 and installed the lastest shitty build.
That work with the streams, they don't skip anymore and have HD streams, but it is very slow working.
Also I can't get Trakt.tv to work on this, installed the addon but its is not scrobbling and authorization in ** does not work?
-
Yes, there is a problem with ** and Trakt, I have a fix for that - but don't think I'm allowed to share here. Try to google '** trakt issue reddit' (just some random words... ahum ;) ) and maybe you will find the solution there. The problems you're now facing have nothing to do with the Q10 pro. android or Kodi - but with the add-ons failing.
-
Ok thank you, is it a difficult solution?
I know it is not Q10 related, but I'm not happy its not working anymore since I updated the Q10.
-
As was stated, there is a problem with ** and Trakt and all the issues surrounding tv add ons. It is not the Himedia or Futeko's fault.
You are aware that those addons to which you refer are illegal and theoretically should not be discussed here or on the KODI forum.

Where do you use the Q10 Pro differently than? Or do you still download yourself?

weird, im running latest version of firmware and kodi 17.3, my tenant has same exact box but his has issues with kodi

Possibly this:
* Stop Kodi 17 streams from stuttering? In Kodi, go to settings -> Player -> Videos and set Allow hardware acceleration - Mediacodec (Surface) to OFF
-
-
Firstly it seems to me quick fix is either A or B .
A. Revert to Jarvis 16.1 in which case unit works fine, but would lose complete functionality of many addons which now require Krypton install to geg Hd streams.
If you use the lastest version of SPMC (or FTMC) you have Jarvis with the lastet Python and so no problems with the addons demanding Krypton.
-
Firmware 2.0.0 is very old. I advise installing the Android 7 FW due to be released next week. If you can't wait then install CS custom 2.0.3 from custom firmware thread. Either will give stable system with working Kodi 17.
Then:
* Stop Kodi 17 streams from stuttering? In Kodi, go to settings -> Player -> Videos and set Allow hardware acceleration - Mediacodec (Surface) to OFF
Wrapper is only for local (LAN/SATA/USB) content, not streams. Installing it will make no difference to Kodi add-ons / streams.
-
I think best way is to install fw 2.0.3 and the Kodi 17.3 shitty build, you can find the link in a post above in this topic.
I have now fw 2.0.3 and the this Kodi shitty build and it is running well.

Thanks for reply which seems to give me an other option, or at least a good control regarding performance qualities for testing. AIUI your able to install SPMC as a stand alone APP to official kod, and can have same or entirely different set up running parallel. The Jarvis should automatically work with Q10 without any fixes and use its complete functionality, and shouldn't be affected by fw updates which it seems I need as per other post replies?
Why doesn't kodi Krypton have the latest python code ? albeit that answer is probably above my head.
Is anyone else running both systems in tandem and whats your veiw on performance?
Thanks

Sorry to sound stupid, but iif my OS is already 7, how does the Android 7 fw update apply? Would this be like CS 2.0.4 ?
Does this include the playercorefactory. xml fix as per Danceswith chicken (dwc) fixabout.
Will look to upgrade firmware to 2.0.3 as per yours and Tomishere advise and install shitty build although bit edgy on that. Normally leave build as confluence as installed by kodi. Simple to use and works fine. Want that back on Krypton, where new interface is IMO over pertentious and time consuming to use. Not very user friendly.,
Have applied the medicoder off solution.
Could you explain the intent and function of the wrapper. If the kodi videoplayer is inferior to what the Q10 pro can provide , why doesn't it automatically give me it.
If im not using the wrapper, is the hc3798c proceesor still working on the streams im watching?
Im hoping you can understand and are able to read between the lines of where I'm going, as bit befuddled and probably getting wrong end of stick.
Thanks

Could you explain what the wrapper is for, if its not giving the player the best choice of veiw available using the units inbuilt hc3798c processor.

The update installed according to the instructions on this forum will wipe your box completely and install new version of firmware. 2.0.1 does not include the Kodi 17 playercorefactory, this was added to 2.0.3.
My advise on firmware is to wait for new firmware next week. Current latest firmware (2.0.3) contains some fixes but is unstable. Next firmware will, at the least, be a stable version of 2.0.3. It will have latest Kodi and playercorefactory.
The CS custom firmware contains 'shitty' Kodi. This is a version of Kodi 17.1 with the audio system from Kodi 16.1 added back so HD-Audio works like it did with 16.1. It adds nothing else, no add-ons.
The wrapper calls HiMedia's media player app for playing video instead of Kodi's internal player. On Q5/Q10 Pro even when using Kodi internal player you're still using hardware processing, so the performance difference isn't big. Wrapper (HiMedia player) adds features like image post processing, 3D, auto framerate switching, 7.1 HD-Audio.

Thks admin

Wasnt quite sure where to post this , so please move as appropiate
When using the Q10 remote I'm unable to scroll up or down when looking on internet page. Having to use mouse pointer for loading everything except typing,, Cannot find any other posts on subject, but unable to resolve , help
Update
Installed SPMC and having exactly same problems. The central control is at least moving the cursor around here, but no backlight to show where you are. Then when going inrto a file, say postion of subtitles, the cursor will not move from fixed, even though gives 4 choices below. Your forced to use mouse which is a v bug. The remote functionality is fine when using pure kodi, backlight indicates where you are, and navigate using the arrows as normal.
I'm still getting stuttering (not loads, but appears to build up in frequency ) playing streams, even tv shows sd standard. The kodi mediacodec is off. What else could I adjust play with to fix this?.
Thanks
-
Can someone give any advise on the remote control issue. Being unable to scroll up and down a website is more than upsetting when trying to load things or browse. I'm starting to think this machine stated life last century and hasn't left yet, only had it a week and feel most let down considering the hype.
Having read through some threads, it seems everything including fw is one step forward, two back, and the s users are the guinea pigs since the testing appears to leave a lot to be researched. Hopefully new fw release
Back to the remote, prev/ forward don't work and cannot navigate with them. Am able to load a webpage, if I can see site i can use mouse and thats it, cannot scroll it at ALL HELP PLEASE, and this is on the built in chrome for poopsake.
Thanks

Thanks for reply.
At device info have
Memory size 2 bb Storage - total 16 gb - available 9.57
So any clue how thst relates s to above. Could thev2 gb be the 1.91 some how, although dont like missing numbers,.but those last post above are what wizard gave me. Don't see how these numbers could be kodi only, my usb is 8 gb, but 9.57 is with stick out.
Thanks
-
Where are you getting your numbers from? What do you mean by 'wizard'? What app?
2GB is the internal RAM.
16GB is internal flash storage.
9.57GB free is about right for a Q10 Pro with not much installed.

A wizrd is a Program addon for kodi. You can install them individually, but usually come witjin a respository. For exampke *BANNEDWORD* which gives us the popular *BANNEDWORD* addon, has its on maintenance addon, together with as well as other support sevices if wanted, artwork (mystery to me) subtitles and other features may be included. The maintence wizard nowadays not only clears cache, thumbnails and packages, but can install the addons at press of a button, speed test, amend advanced settings.xmls files, do diagnostic mots on the complete system you have installed to ensurecworking okay, etc, install new builds , Apks etc. It also so gives data info which where above figures came from. Trust this assists
Still trying to work this out as concerned with only 3mb free which appears critically small unless I know why.

HI Futeko
Have waited as no doubt you've been busy.
So i have Fw 2.0.0 installed from svhop and need to get to 2.0.4 installed. Understand need to backup my kodi, anything else,? For Fw need a clean usb it keeps mentioning, somwhere so have purchased new Sandisk usb3.0 flash drive. What do I have to do in order please, I am going to use the custom fw which you suggest is way to go.
Do I need a PC and what format should usb be, read some threads which confused, and please confirm that after each successful upgrade , will need to clean usb each time? .
Thanks,

See forum thread. There are instructions in opening post.

To go from 2.0.0 (and I can't believe a reseller would ship a box with 2.0.0 installed) you would have to install 2.0.3 then 2.0.4.
USB stick format should be GPT/FAT32. No need to reformat between installs, just delete the update.zip file.
-
It appears my reply yesterday didnt log. You have confused be slightly as that link is for factory firmware, whereas I think id like to do custom fw upgrade. Do I need to install factory 1st then custom, as reading threads sort i could just do custom?. Below you advised to wait installing this upgrade as 2.0.3 was unstable which 2.0.4 at least would be stable with shitty build. Is not the shitty build the custonm fw?
Just to confirm I can ignore 2.0.1 altogether both factory / custom?
Why can factory fw not be installed using available OTA.? Can't find anything on threads i read refering to this, and what is OTA for if not this.?
My system details
Android system 7.0 - ( pls confirm this latest upgrade, so nothing to do, can use any fw version with android 7 )
Kernal version 3.18.24
Build hmd-2,0.0 2016-11-17.181855 ( to be fair didn't think this was so old)
Ota says have the latest
Renaning zip. Never did this before only downloaded them. At what stage in process, when I highlight or copy or is there a how to link I can go to. Looked on web, couldnt find anything, apart from creating a zip for files / folders already on PC?
Again thanks, no rush if your busy, it can wait.

The instructions in our firmware threads are very clear and I have already given you specific instructions for what you need to do.
If you want even more detailed instructions you could of course ask the retailer who sold the box to you. ;)
