Title: HDR and other problems solved :-)
Post by: Marvin on June 17, 2017, 11:48:26 AM
Hello,

its my first post  :)
after 8 month of using Q10 pro and my Samsung 65 9590 TV i must say that q10 pro is a piece of crap  :o
the firmware Problems like HDR Ratio and microstutter are big problems for me.

i have now a fix for me  :)

i tested minix neo u9-h and there are problems too , then i test zidioo x10 same shit too....sorry.
i must say i working with plex media and very fast synology nas or usb 3.0 sticks.

the minix support is excellent, better then himedia on facebook and here in the forum.

my test files are free download jelly fish from 100-400 mbit rate and the big buck bunny.
and the test is with a high speed usb 3.1 -3.0 sandisk stick.

the q10 pro is playing jellyfish 250 mbit okay...higher not.
big buck bunny 4k / 30 fps yes but not 60 fps.....stuttering   :)
i use in plex the original player and mx player too.

so and now?

yes there is a player that plays all for me.... its nvidia shield.
i test all files and they plays all of them...jellyfish 400 mbit ----> perfect....no stuttering.

big buck bunny 4k / 60 fps ....smooth with usb and on my nas.
it plays perfect plex 2k / 24 P and 4k / 24 p ....no problem......4:2:0 10 bit and 12 bit what you want.
and has not HDR ratio problems....yesss.
i can say nvidia shield is a beast....after 4 days test...i can say wow.

okay there is one thing i will missing is the display on the himedia :-)

i dont want to bashing or trolling here,,,but i sell my himedia q10 pro now on ebay.

testfiles big buck bunny for free

yes i dun think q10 is ever gonna solve all that bugs, some bugs solved, other bugs appear.
why even bother to update..

anyway nvidia shield has any subtitle download function during video playback?
also hows the picture quality comparing shield and q10 since you mentioned you missing the q10 picture.

also i have use subtitle in plex.....but it was the subtitle in the film and not to download.
and for me the quality is very good...you can change colour spectrum 709 or 2020 and 10 bit or 12 bit.

Does the Nvidia Shield play UHD Blu-ray? Or do you have to select the m2ts file from "Stream" Folder?

What is the point of this thread? 2 posts and both are not related to Q10. This does not belong here or anywhere.

Hi everybody
I thought that Nvidia Shield does NOT play HDR yet (for video playback, that is). Everybody on their forums is complaining and awaiting future potential upgrades to include HDR.
So unless you do not want HDR, Nvidia is the best hardware endowed platphorm.

i got a samsung 65 ks9590 (2016) Tv and it has hdr and it plays perfectly hdr.
i make a test....i played a hdr file with the samsung internal player and is the same colour then i played with the shield tv.

and movies with the wrong ratio it plays perfect :-) not on the himedia q10 pro.
yesterday i play a movie in 25 p without microstutter and a movie with 24 p without microstutter.
all with plex because i have a synology 216 II+ nas.
maybe i want wo test it with kodi when i have time :-)
