How do I play mkv file movies from my flash drive or external hard drive on my H8 lite Octacore core box. I plug it into the us port and I can't seem to find my files anywhere? Please help

No one can help?

What app are you trying to view the files in?
In the HiMedia Media Center app the drive should be listed.
In other apps it will be located at the mount location in Android file system (Android is based on Linux and follows Linux drive location convention - not C: D: etc). From FAQ:
* Drive mount location? All apps except the HiMedia file browser and player use Android file structure. All directories and locations are subdirectories of root, which is symbolised as /. External drives are located at /mnt/usb_storage/USB_DISK1 / /mnt/usb_storage/USB_DISK1 etc.
* Drive mount location in Kodi? Root file system - /mnt/usb_storage/USB_DISK1 / /mnt/usb_storage/USB_DISK1 etc.

Hi thank you for your response, I'm trying to open it with the Himedia media centre but it doesn't show a USB drive listed. Only shows Scard. Lan and NSF.

Possibly USB disk is formatted in a way H8 can't understand.
Format should be FAT32, NTFS, or EXT.
-
Yes it's been formatted in fat32. The movie files are stored in folders though. Should they be taken out of the folders?
-
Shouldn't make any difference.
Try ES FIle Explorer and the direct paths from root from my earlier post.
/mnt/usb_storage/
Also try Settings - More - Storage and see if the drive is listed.
If you can't see the storage at all from any app, then it's a hardware problem. Either with the USB storage or H8. I think most likely USB disk isn't formatted correctly but other things to try would be different USB ports on H8, different USB stick, NTFS or EXT format rather than FAT32.
